This is the last game of the $5 Student Section Tix Special (these general admission tix are available to general public since students are still on break...must ask for it at box office).
There is a lot of basketball left this season, but this team has so much potential and could make a run in the tourney. All it takes is some luck and the team playing well at the right time. Look at FGCU and the run they made!
We have an outstanding center who can dominate on both sides of the ball. We have a tremendous shooter in Matt Williams, and if healthy, BJ Taylor really knows how to run the point. All of this combined with team defense, this team is more special than I think any of us truly know.
Speaking of special, has anyone looked at our sophomore class? They are insane with talent! Tacko Fall, BJ Taylor, Chance McSpadden, and Chad Brown. Add in transfers: Aubrey Dawkins and Dayon Griffin (who are sitting as juniors this year). This group is loaded!
Does anyone know about the talent that is sitting this year? Any word on any of the new guys? I remember hearing about AJ Davis when he sat out coming from Tennessee.

The line has UCF favored by 9.5 pts tonight. Sounds about right. We could easily be tripped up.
The nice things we've heard from the players is that Dawkins and his coaching staff are changing the mindsets to emphasize getting off to a quick start, maintaining defensive pressure throughout, and attacking on offense.
It's also clear that opponents are well scouted, and the game plan tries to take away their best scorers and plays.
Matt Williams has taken what's given: versus Temple, he began by driving in the lane but pulling up for mid-range shots.
Tank's greatest improvement is a deadly short jumper rather than always trying to power to the basket as he did last year.
After two losses, the team is 4-0 with Laing as starter and he lets everyone else relax and focus on playing their game.
