Unless I'm missing something Milton does the same thing, that's the style- looking over to the sideline for a picture of pie or chicken. It's not always done, but I think both do it. Last game you could see the guy holding up the board with 4 pictures or words on it.

Well, at least we have holman this year for backup. If he was out or hurt we might really be hurting (unlessssss another QB was to come in and be like a blake bortles) :)

After watching some NFL, maybe I have been a bit rough on Holman?

Jordan franks was open underneath on almost every single play on Saturday. This is how offense works: TE and RB get clear on short routes and the short passing game and runs, along with the speed, open up the long ball. Holman is trying to hit a home run on every snap. He doesn't look for the underneath receivers. This is the part where Milton has him beat. Holman can't run this offense properly. Milton can. Pretty simple.

yep it's been the case with him in any offensive system. He doesn't run an offense, he plays 500 with receivers that do not have Breshad Perriman's vertical jump to bail him out.

Bruh, look at the catches that Franks caught. I think he was covered once. If he could just quit looking for the long ball on every passing down and would focus on just getting 5-6 yds, he would be amazeballs. He just doesn't get it. he had all the time in the world for most throws and ended up shooting bombs that went over guys' heads. Great arm, not great football IQ.

I get that Holman needs to be more effective by looking for players under neath, but theres three passes that had a chance if there skill receivers Smith and Payton were able to get to the ball faster or catch the ball. Maybe thats what Snelson is complaining about.
I say have Killins set up wide left and outrace the defenders for the deep pass.**

In Holman's defense the WR can't catch his 100mph underneath passes. They're more likely to catch long balls after the wind resistance has slowed them to a mere 70mph.

some of those drops is bc Holman never adjusts the speed of his throws, it's all fastballs

Dink and dunk sets up the long ball. You can eat clock and demoralize a defense that way. Mix in a run and next thing you know it doesn't matter how bad the throw is cause your wr is so open because you've caught the corners and safeties cheating up.

Let me get this straight. Are you guys doubting Holman's ability?

It could be worse. Much worse. Holman may not be great but he is serviceable. I think he is going to continue to get lots of playing time.

So now youre saying his long bombs are not catchable either? Sounds like he shouldve chosen baseball as a career instead.
well both. the rare times he does see and throw a pass <15 yards from the line of scrimmage it's always at one speed with no touch

The one or two underneath passes he threw were either at the receiver's feet or shotgun blasts that would've broken somebody's finger.

Basically, he's Steven Moffett.

Just to level set here. Holman's completion percentage is 41.2%
You must attempt an average of 15 passes per game (75 through 5), to be eligible for this ncaa ranking, so he doesn't have enough attempts to be listed.
If he was listed... know where that would put him? Dead last, by a significant margin:

Just to put in perspective how far back he is. IF he goes a perfect 22 for 22 in the next game so that he has the 90 overall passes needed to be ranked, he would still be 95th on that list.

I've hated it, so damn annoying, but I'm getting used to it. Another win and you've sold me on it's being the best damn thing about football.

I would not underestimate Tulane! Their other opponents have and often paid dearly. They specialize in coming back from deep deficits.

I was talking to my buddy at work and at this point, mechanics aren't going to change all that much. He's a senior and that's what we got. Use his leadership/experience to coach up the young guys and pass the torch.

Based on the insider's chat with Trace and Drew on Knightline, they are a run heavy offense and just now started letting their guy throw. I think same thing as ECU game, control the line defensively and we win (as long as the offense can move the gd chains).

Now that the new line is improving its pass protection and Hamilton is improving when he has to stay in to block (Wilson is a great blocker), the sacks have gone way down from the past 2 years! Of course, FIU and ECU don't have great rushes, but still, Holman was still in shell-shocked mode, so he was delivering the ball before going through his progressions.

Holman progressions:
1) Is the primary short open? Don't care
2) Is the secondary cross open? Don't care
3) Is the stretch open? Don't care, let's give it a go
