Obviously the access bowl is not happening this year, and winning the conference championship seems like a stretch goal now. What realistic attainable goal would you expect now? I keep thinking how Houston started their season last year with a 27-7 loss to UTSA. UTSA didn't even make a bowl that year, but Houston went on to an 8-5 record and a P5 win over Pitt.
I am optimistic that this team will get better as the season progresses. I have to believe that getting to a bowl game is still a realistic and attainable goal... And beating USF. You can still salvage a part of a season by beating your rival.
