the Big 12 expanding to 12 teams?
I think there will be a strong argument every single year for both to happen. This year of course the Big 12 got lucky and got in so they aren't talking as much about expansion, but I've heard the other conferences (esp. PAC 12) bring up the fact that every conference should have a similar setup.
I think the Big 12 will be forced to expand first since the other 4 conferences will pressure them every year to conform to what they all have, a conference championship game. I also think the likelihood of them having to expand will increase as they get in and the other conferences are left on the outside. When the Big 12 is the one left out, the other conferences don't take as much notice, however when a conference like the Pac 12 gets left out, you can bet for sure that they will try harder to convince the other 4 in pressuring the Big 12 to adapt.
I can see Baylor getting in next year and if the PAC 12 or Big 10 beats up on themselves again and gets left out, I bet you will see the other conferences force the Big 12 to add a conference game, and not let them do it with only 10 teams.
