Looking back at our short history in college football, I’m still surprised at how rapidly our program advanced through each conference (MAC, cUSA, AAC). You still see most of the 2002 MAC teams still in the MAC in 2021, after we’ve jumped several conferences since. It isn’t until cUSA where we share the field with many familiar teams for many years later.

Seeing so much hate for us recently, I’m wondering what fanbase, at the very least, seem to tolerate us. There’s just so much hate for us everywhere. Cinci hates us, Memphis hates, usf would kill their mother if it meant we didn’t exist….the only ones that I feel don’t necessarily hate us that much is ECU. I’ve seen a lot of mutual respect between us, and we’ve played each other a long time (most games ever I believe). I’ve never actually watched a game there so I wouldn’t know the atmosphere. Would maybe throw in Tulsa but meh. Houston?

From a UCF fan point of view, I don’t mind half the times I just listed other than usf. Would say we have a lot in common with Houston. They share a similar conference history with us and have had success, even winning a NY6 bowl in the AAC (we’re the only two AAC teams that have done that). Cinci talks big but until they bring home the big chip, I give more importance to Houston. And I feel their fans don’t necessarily hate us unlike Cinci fans.

Looking forward to seeing who we love and hate in the Big 12. Seems like a lot of Big 12 fans/pages like us on twitter. Particularly the OKST ones.

Do Cinci fans HATE us? I feel like we certainly have a rivalry with them, but I feel like there is a certain amount of respect going both ways. I may have a misconception because I have a co-worker who is a Cinci fan and he has never hated UCF. I believe that they will be our big annual rivalry game in the big 12 after awhile.

Yes…I went to Cincy for the game in 2019. They hate us and they are a trash bag fan base in a trash bag city. New Big12 rivalry for sure…

The rivalry with Cincinnati has been a bit one sided lately. Lets win against them and then it can be a rivalry. Until then, we are their punching bag. I don't know how the divisions or pods (possible further expansion) will shape up. My guess is that our rival in the Big 12 will be whoever we beat next. Rivalries take time to build. We are unlikely (hopefully) to have any geographic rivals. My guess would probably be Memphis and WVU, for now. I am assuming that Memphis gets off their rear end and builds an on-campus stadium and Memphis and Boise become #s 13 and 14.

It would have to be either WV or Cincy. It those 2 could be each other’s. WV fans are whackier than USF fans.

Definitely think we'll develop a rivalry with West Virginia. I was at the game when we played them in 2004 at the Citrus Bowl. We played them tough in 2003 also.
