I'm sure Trump will have a couple of contenders in the primary, Kasich for one. But who is going to jump into the dem primary?

I don't think Sanders has the legs anymore, the democratic-socialism schtick has worn off somewhat, or so it seems. Harris? Shumer? Cuomo? Bloomberg?

Any ideas?

The Rock would be a fool to even attempt politics. He’s liked by almost everyone and he’s making mountains of cash.

Politics would require him to jump into a cesspool either way and play the game

it would force him to come forth on issues that are divisive knowing that half the population is going to love and the other half hate. i dont know if he wants to do that. i dont know many people that would be willing to do that. like you said hes got broad support and tons of money. why risk that?

If Democrats knew what was right for them, and they usually don't, they would go ahead and tell Kamala Harris and Joe Kennedy to get ready. The two of them would destroy everything in their path, and their seats would be easy replacements.

(and honestly, I don't know much about either one of them. I'm just saying they are both relatively young, are good speakers, and exuberant. Using Obama's popularity as a barometer, they would follow suit.)

Harris had a chance to follow suit, but she doesn't have the hope and change feel about her that he did and already has the "far left" label tagged to her.

Kennedy would bring the legacy aspect in play which could be effective. Probably as good a chance as anybody but would have to moderate positions during the general, but how do you get through the dem primary and then shift like that?

Personally, I think Kennedy's legacy would work against him. Old Democrat voters would love it. Young and minority Democrat voters might not. But, he is very young himself, and a lot of young voters don't remember the Kennedy as much as the Clintons or Bushes.

Harris, or any politician really, is only one speech away from Hope and Change. Not many people knew Obama before his speech after the State of the Union.

This mother ****er is young, speaks well, Navy intelligence, Harvard and Oxford educated, and he left office to serve a 9 month deployment in the Middle East WHILE he was mayor. He's rust belt born and raised and he's gay. He's the moderate democrat that we need to pull us out of trumpism but not into communism. Remember the name, boot-edge-edge is how you say it.

Obamas speech worked for him because he was a clean slate and managed to keep it that way for 4 years. Not sure it woukd resonate the same way or play out like Obamas did.

Sanders will attempt again, but the DNC is going to block him from consideration. Hillary Clinton is leading that charge right now, and has joined the 'blame Sanders' camp.

And that's likely why the DNC will lose. As much as the DNC is trying to 'clean house,' their support is dependent on the US media and the mainstream Clinton-Progressive and, more radical yet, Waters-Progressive.

The GOP has similar problems with the Trump supporters, but at least people who are bothered by Trump are still willing to support Trump when it comes to the ballot. Donald Trump is really the GOP's Bill Clinton, they are willing to look past his flaws on the ballot.

His re-election is very, very likely at this point. As Bill Maher sadistically stated, the only way Trump doesn't get re-elected is if the economy falls under. It may. It may not. It all depends how much China is hurting in another month.

they are definitely trying to block bernie. i hope he runs on his own. that would be great for trump.

" It all depends how much China is hurting in another month."

Doubt it. I can't see how China thriving or hurting will make any difference at this point. FTR, they arent doing so well over the last 3 months.
