How much are we taxing vs printing, how is the money going to be used, what exactly is being taxed, these are all different policy levers that will have different effects. How do you define was is better? For what group of people, poor, rich. What time horizon?, etc.
Bottom line is removing money leads to less money to cycle in the economy, all else the same. Spending tax dollars redistributes money. Printing money devalues money, all else the same.
