ECU had as many first downs by penalty (5) as UCF had passing. ECU: 29 first downs to UCF 16.
We're supposed to get 90+ plays. ECU had 100, UCF only 73, a bit more than ECU 68 pass attempts.
UCF couldn't buy a turnover. Today, we got 3 INTs, 2 fumble recoveries, a safety.
Special teams were a mess, but suddenly they were rock solid in all areas (kickoff, punt, FG, returns)
Red zone a real difference: UCF 3-3, ECU 3-7!
8 of the 14 punts in the game downed inside the 20 (most well inside).
Holman on completed 11 passes, but to 8 different receivers. Yet Franks had almost half that yardage.
65% of all receiver yardage was by our 3 tight ends (and on only 4 catches)
Ejected Rucker still led with twice the solo tackles (8) as anyone (plus 2 assts, 1 QH, 1 sack, 3 TFLs)
Still other defensive stats outrageous: 5 sack, 7 passes defended, 4 QHs, 3 forced fumbles.
Question: who was the last defensive lineman to register an interception? an INT for a TD?

Frost cannot start Holman next game

if Holman starts, he needs to be on a short leash....he's had poor starts in all 3 games that he's been healthy and he has to step up and be prepared to start fast....considering that opening plays are typically scripted, I don't get his very disappointing first halfs....

Fun Stat: UCF scored TD's on all 3 units (offense, defense and special teams) for the first time since 2010.

I'm hoping Miltons ankle is good to go next week.

I understand and agree with the concerns about starting Holman next week. But relatively speaking, if he was good enough to lead us to victory against ECU, he should be able to defeat Tulane. This could be a good time for Milton to get another week to get healthy. We will need a healthy Milton the following week when we host Temple.

Respectfully disagree. Holman didn't lead us to victory (unless you consider handing off to a running back as leading) the defense and special teams did. We won in spite of Holman not being able to consistently keep drives alive. I don't think a rusty Milton will be as good as a confident Milton coming off a home victory over Tulane (presuming of course we get the win over Tulane).

We need Milton. We can't expect the defense and special teams to have a game like that every week. The offense has to be able to move the chains and score.
