Simple question. Anyone who has followed Ucf knows that Godsey was probably one of the better coaches and recruiters in Ucf history. In fact he discovered Bortles then let Collins know to go scout Bortles. He also helped developed Brynn Harvey, Latavius, and Ronnie Weaver. He also played for George at GT. So if he had stayed and not went to NE wouldn't he be getting the hciw tag that key is getting?

As UCF's QB Coach (2004-2008), Godsey struggled at times and was successful at times. He didn't have a great stable of top talent QBs to work under.
It was only when Taafe was hired did Godsey get moved to coach RB for his final 2 years at UCF.
And no, Godsey was not one of the better recruiters in UCF History...he wasn't even the top 2 or 3 recruiter the years he was with UCF.
Godsey made the right move to jump to a much higher paying job in the NFL with the Pats and now he has a really nice gig with Texans as their Offensive Coordinator (where another O'Leary connection, Bill O'Brien, hired him).
I think Bill O'Brien would be the best one. He has a record as a head coach but he isn't leaving the Texans.

Not sure if you are serious. O'Brien is 24-16 as a head coach. Godsey & Key have no record.
Hitt should put his foot down and bring in a UCF guy, Chizik is a DC again and I'm sure he'd love to be a HC again. Wasn't the most polished coach but could recruit and knew what he needed was a genius OC which he hired.

He wasn't a great HC but was a hell of a coordinator and good recruiter. There's no chance we get him unless it's to be the HC. Cam Newton isn't walking through many teams doors but if he can get a good OC, him helping the D and with the talent in this state he should do better then what we have.
True...and Chiz OC while at Iowa State didn't "light it up" either.
Chiz hit the lottery...won the bidding contest vs Miss St for Cam...won a national title when the stars were aligned and then completely fell back to earth as his incompetence as a leader was exposed.
Chiz is a renter...will jump from job to job for $1 more...and if he ever won 2 games in a row at UCF, he would immediately bolt for a Jr College HC job in the mid west.
This might be Larry Fedora's last year at UNC...so Chiz (UNC DC) could be looking for another job come December.
