WTF Are We Doing in Niger?

Yeah, this facebook video from earlier in the week was very moving...filmed by a passenger on that flight.

For those that don't know, the protocol for US Passenger Planes when they are carrying a fallen member of the military is for all passengers to remain seated at the gate till the coffin ceremony has ended.

Shawn Thomas, Green Beret, was 35 years old.

Here is the passenger's unedited video that should took and posted to fb...as you can hear her weeping at this site:

You're surprised we're conducting covert operations in other countries, I'd be surprised if we're not. We're as Imperial as they come and have our hands in everyone's business.

Oh stop it. We can only conduct operations in foreign countries at the request of the host country. Or with the backing of a UN resolution. Or with the assent of the US Congress. We also don't seize foreign country assets and take over their countries and replace it with our government. So please drop the melodrama about the US being as Imperial as they come.

And let's not forget, we have embassies in every other country around the world (except for Iran). Could have been stationed at the U.S. embassy in Niger for all we know.
