Bellarmine can’t play in the NCAA tournament because it is only thier second season in D1 basketball?!?!? They have to wait two more seasons before they could get in!?!?!?

Who the **** made that a rule? A group of people sat in a room and thought this was such a good thing to do, they voted to implement it. This is just the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard of. Even dumber than UNC getting no sports sanctions for having student-athletes basically cheat their way out of classes for an entire decade. I’m livid.

Please someone tell me I’ve missed something because I’ve looked and can’t.

I just want to happen across one high level NCAA person or a CFI official so I can call them an ass-clown.

…and then the cherry on top is the team that lost in the finals doesn’t get to go either. It falls to the #1 seed who lost to the team that lost in the finals of the Asun championship game.

I saw that too when watching the game and was wondering why. I thought it was some violation or something. That's terrible your either D1 or D2 not stuck in the middle for 4 years. But again these are the same people that cannot seem to figure out how to put together a tournament past 4 teams.

Somewhat remember that it's the same thing in football, for just the 1st year. When we moved up from II, I-AA etc the first year we couldn't do any post season, don't remember us being good enough for it anyway. Could be wrong.

PS it's a stupid idea anyway. Not many teams in any sport is going to be able to win a conference etc just after moving up. Who are you protecting?

It’s 4 years for National Championships. Not post season. In 98 we could play in a bowl game but not the NC in football. I’m assuming they can go to NIT because it’s not a NC tourney. It’s definitely a dumb rule. Have to pay all of the dues and can win Conference but not NC.
