You had one job SMU!

Nope, now Houston is going to be soulless. What is there to play for? Lost to Navy, nearly lost to fair Tulsa, and now got beat to crap by 2 win SMU. There's nothing to play for.
They aren't even winning the western division. It's over. Navy need to lose
3 out of 4 and Houston needs to win out. Ouch!

Wow we can potentially have a win over a ranked team this year. Granted, Houston seems to have been majorly overrated but we still have a lot of problems to fix on our end if we're gonna beat them.

They still have tons of talent. It all depends on their mindset next week, I hope half their roster gets drunk on Friday night.

I doubt they will still be ranked after that loss.

What we need is Houston to beat Louisville and Oklahoma win Big 12. We're power 5.

You hope...you can only hope. (Plus, like Memphis that lost 3 out of their last 4 games last year when it seemed that they were losing their HC...hope that happens to Houston too).

We only win if, we can actually score and score quickly. Then Houston gets in a funk of, oh it's happening again. Just 3 weeks ago they were playing for the Playoffs (in their mind- it was never going to happen,), now they are playing for St. Pete Bowl. But we're only scoring 25 or so points a game these last 2 games, no way we win with that low a score.

At this point, they probably will just be ranked as they were #11. Probably between 22-25. Maybe higher. However, I'm more worried about our team executing and improving and not banking on Houston's mindset. Any win at this point priceless and is needed to get us either to a bowl game or a possible showdown with USF for the Eastern division title.

What a loss for Houston. Anyone see it? SMU? Really?

I watched the first half. Houston was dropping alot of balls, SMU had 2 early interceptions, and they did a decent job containing ward. Houston couldn't really stop SMU's offense either. The score should of been 28-0 SMU at half time, but SMU fumbled once on their own 10 yard line.

They are running out of gas. They take everyone's best shot and being a G5 school they still lack depth.
This right here I think definitely contributes to their on the field play, losing just cost the conference millions from the new year's 6 bowl spot. They would be foolish to think that the playoffs were the only thing worth playing for.

The conference needs consistent year to year dominance of the New Years 6 at large bowl spot to have legitimacy as a power 6 conference. Or best chance now is for Boise to drop one western Michigan to drop one and Navy to win out if we want the American to benefit from the huge payout from the bowl

Agreed. Losing to an Air Force team on the decline may play a factor for leaving Navy out if Boise State or Western Michigan doesnt lose a game.

I watched the game. Houston had no answers. They looked like the 20 point underdog. It was so embarrassing.
