So how does anybody explain us playing for conference titles 3 out of 4 times we had bad records in the past, including an 0-11 season. We didn't lose for "years" after that. I for one am not shocked by how bad we are. We basically lost the entire team and lost both coordinators and a very good secondary coach. On top of that we've been decimated with injuries. Holman doesn't look anywhere near 100% but he's out there because at least he has experience running things. It was obvious WRs were not running the right routes, and several times if they ran their routes instead of jogging them they would have had some big opportunities. That all comes with inexperienced guys out there and the only way they are going to get better is putting in the time and working through it. Heck, I heard the gameday guys and some other pundits talking about ohio state's offensive problems/inconsistencies and they were discussing how losing the OC might be a bigger problem than thought. They were discussing how just because you have talent back and the person may have worked under the guy who left (or whatever) that it doesn't always translate or takes a while to work through issues. Does anybody really think after those 0-11, 4-8, 4-8, and 5-7 seasons that we were going to be that good the next seson? I didn't. I thought we were pretty much doomed after 2008 but we pulled out an 8-5 season with a 6-2 conference record the next year.
