Anyone else go to the game in 2006 when we lost 42-0? That one was ROUGH!
I remember Charles Lee catching the first TD of the game we played them, which hushed that crowd up!Anyone else go to the game in 2006 when we lost 42-0? That one was ROUGH!
Yeah, I was there. I sat (or rather, stood) near our band. There's a lot I've forgotten about that game because I didn't want to remember. We're not going to get beat down like that this time. We're on a level playing field with the Gators now, and regardless of who wins, this will be a battle from start to finish.Anyone else go to the game in 2006 when we lost 42-0? That one was ROUGH!
I think that's the 1999 matchup you're talking about. We had a pretty solid pair of future NFL cornerbacks in Travis Fisher and Asante Samuel, but our secondary just didn't have the depth to slow down that Gator offensive machine. It's going to be a different story in Gainesville this time, I think. This is such a different UCF team today than in 1999.I remember Charles Lee catching the first TD of the game we played them, which hushed that crowd up!
Then we got silenced.
Yeah the 99 team had a bunch of FCS recruits on it still.I think that's the 1999 matchup you're talking about. That ain’t motivating anyone boomer. Our players were in elementary then. They should be running highlights of that UCF/UF game in the Swamp in 2006 24/7 in the facility to get the guys motivated to go back up this year and exact some revenge.
I think they weren’t even in school. That ain’t motivating anyone boomer. Our players were in elementary then.
They need to show the players how much harder life is if you don’t make the NFL.
Lol. How long have you been watching college football? I mean…can’t even make it up.Will it be a UCF takeover of the swamp? How awesome would that be if like 30-40% of the stadium was Knight fans. Can we get 30,000 UCF fans to show up for the biggest regular season game in our programs history?? UCF should be buying up all these tickets on the secondary market and re-selling them to Knight fans at reasonable prices to get as many fans as possible in that stadium.
Its easy to pity a team that is losing on your home field when they were considered terrible, never been to a bowl game, and UCF was their "Back Up" school. Now that UCF is on relatively equal footing with them, we will not receive that treatment. If they beat us, they will say it doesn't mean much, but considering our all time record against them is 1-2 we could be 2-2 with them this year and we can joke that their only wins were when we were in CUSA or Independent. UCF has a bright future ahead of us while UF took a page out of the USF playbook and has fired every coach that doesn't make them a conference champion within 3 years. I believe Ron Zook was their best recruiter as he picked up the team Meyer won his first championship with and many of the key players were Zook's recruits. When Meyer left, the cupboard was bare. Muschamp was a good hire but he needed someone who could run the offense. McElwain was decent but he struggled with defense and press. Mullen was probably their best hire but he burned a lot of bridges with Florida high schools. Napier seems like a good recruiter but struggles to put it all together. He may have been like Scott Frost - a great coach but needs more experience to make it work at a more established school. So when Napier gets fired this year because they don't win the conference now that Saban is gone, they will hire someone else. UCF has been able to maintain consistency with our coaching staff since 2004. No coaches have been fired since GOL. However, he kind of fired himself and wanted Key to take over. Since then every coach has left the program and used it as a stepping stone to get to a bigger school. Only time will tell if Frost or Heupel will remain on top or get back on top.At least it would give them an idea of what to expect as far as the atmosphere of the Swamp. It can be quite an intimidating place for the visiting team/fans. I was crammed into the student section with some buddies from UF. Thankfully everyone was pretty cool around me. Prob cause they felt bad for me mostly.
You're assuming the Gator fans will be selling their tickets of course .After the UF/Miami game, I think UCF just doubled the amount of fans that are gonna show up for this one. UCF takeover, it’s gonna happen.
They were before they got beat Saturday. They don’t want to go and watch their team get beat by a new up and comer. You're assuming the Gator fans will be selling their tickets of course .
I hate going to UF for a football game. Fans are the worst! Maybe worse than usf fans.Dudes, it was 42-0 late in the 4th and the Gator fans were still abusing us. I even got abused and harassed walking back to the car. I'm scared for life! We UCF fans were gator bait for sure that game. Even O'leary wouldn't kick a field goal to avoid the goose egg. 42-0. I would like revenge this year!
Let Go Knights! Beat the Gators.
Who's ready for football season already?
It was against UCF and that turned out to be quite a Knight!Anyone remember Napes first game on the sideline for UF?
Nahh the Knights don't have it in them.Blowout loss to Colorado was probably worst case scenario for Florida. Gonna have a bunch of angry dudes all week. Flush it and turn the page. Most important game in the programs history is this week.
