ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – As far as season-opening weekends go, the UCF women’s soccer team isn’t easing into anything. The No. 17 Knights will host No. 8 Florida on Friday under the lights of the UCF Soccer Complex at 8 p.m.
The meeting is one of three Top 20 matchups in the nation that day and the only game featuring two teams from the same state. It will mark the first time in five years that the Gators have visited for a regular season matchup.
The Knights are eager to return to the field after a successful 2014 that saw a school record for wins in a season (18) and their second NCAA Sweet 16 berth in four years. UCF brings back all-conference honoree Ashley Spivey and all-freshman selectionsSaga Fredriksson and Hannah DeBose as two-time Coach of the Year Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak gears up for her third season as the leader of the program.
