Ted Cruz is smart. You live one life. He has enough money to get out of the cold and enjoy life. He’s not going to fix the power grid or the weather. It’s a non story. I’m going to West Palm Beach tomorrow to escape the 50 degree cold of Orlando and to go on a long bike ride. He’s escaping 10 degree weather for 70’s and 80’s. Good for him!

Supposedly he came back from vacation after the non story. If only he was telling people to lockdown while flying to Mexico for a wedding. Or requiring lockdowns while eating indoors maskless at $800 plate with medical lobbyists when they aren't scared of the sniffles. Or getting a haircut maskless while creating commie restrictions. Or encouraging large protests when this virus is supposedly so scary.

In any sane reality this should’ve been a non-story. But it plays right into the hands of the activists in the media that want to equivocate everything. Democrat rails about the necessity of lockdowns travels across country to a big family holiday: crickets. Republican who has been in favor of travel and against lockdowns travels: 4 minutes on the primary news program. Then the false claim that Republicans are worse than Democrats because, look, they do the same things. Or the justification of the Democrats previous actions because of the false equivalency.

It’s so damn frustrating because these are the over-the-air news programs that are supposed to be non-partisan and trustworthy. They’re not the MSNBC or FoxNews entertainment channels.

I do not envy someone like AOC for example..she has set such a standard w her political brand that it would be impossible for her to stay at some expensive villa for a long weekend without getting criticized

It's Texas, so who knows but they definitely should connect to one of the national grids. Ultimately I think they will. They don't need to go to a public power system, but they definitely need a backstop against this kind of thing happening.
