The deadliest bombings during the decades long "Troubles" 29 killed, 200 plus injured) happened in Omagh, Northern Ireland when supporters of the Real IRA (not supporters of the Irish Republican Army who agreed to the Peace Signing with Northern Ireland earlier that year), targeted civilians in this deadly attack.
Having been near that border between Ireland and Northern Ireland just one year later (about 20 miles away), it was still an eerie feeling seeing Irish Police Check Points when you got that close to the border.
So glad the Irish Catholics and the British/Northern Ireland Protestants are not killing each other anymore (main concern is now with Brexit as locals don't want their open borders to close).
