1) Defensive line and defense got tired. Pittman hurt?

2) Bad calls (pass interference missed mostly).

3) Not running the ball on the 5 yard line in OT enough on the last drive, but instead running plays that were not north and south. Not enough QB options. Run Hamilton.

Yes to turnovers, but I expect that in a new QBs first game. I do question the
playcalling. We put the QB in a postion to do too much.

Answer=we have no QB. Milton is a RB that's running the wildcat the entire time. Sad thing thing is he's still better than Holman

We need to recruit a REAL QB next year that is taller than 5' 10" and that has a decent arm.

Calling a timeout before the end of the half. Led to 3 points for Maryland just before the half expired.

1) Mostly GOL recruits
2) Mostly GOL recruits
3) Mostly GOL recruits

4) B1G officials are horrible
and relying on True Freshman at QB, WR, OL, RB

there will be lumps during this season

I would like to see Hamilton get more carries instead of Wilson. He's much more likely to pop one and open up the offense even more.

Use Wilson on the goaline or situations where the team is backed up and need a more experienced player to protect the Football.

How am I the only who is completely outraged by the officiating the last 2 games?

I strongly suggest everyone watch the game tape when you're sober, like I do. The BIG 10 is blanantly cheating with their refs.

You aren't the only one. We lost Michigan regardless...but there is a definite possibility the refs changed the outcome of the game tonight.

Weren't they American refs? And it was funny watching them hop on a shuttle van and get a police escort out of stadium within 60 seconds of game being over. I was worried about the line judge that was in the northwest corner.

One if the worst coaching decisions I've ever personally witnessed. I said to the people around me, "Why would we take a timeout to help them decide their 3rd and 8 play. They can't stop the clock. Now they are going to chuck the rock downfield and get a big play or pass interference."....they got the big play.
Plus, that retarded 4th and one call on our own like 12. Wtf. There is never a good reason to do that, unless you are losing. We were tied. Oh yeah, and the fake punt....wtf.

Other than those dumb coaching decisions I was pleased with what I saw. Milton looked alright for his first game. Defense played well except for the one drive where they ran the ball down our throat. I say roll with him the rest of the year. Our game flow just looked much better tonight (some of that may just be getting some games under our belts)

Reffing was deplorable late in the game. None of us could figure out how that play was ruled a turnover. How can you be throwing the ball (with your arm moving forward) and it not be considered a pass that is batted down. Someone can explain to me what they called.

We need to play Jordan Akins a lot more. He should be moved back to WR. He's a man playing amongst boys.

Big 10

and @mattropolis that 2nd fake punt was not a call by the coaches, Loudermilk just screwed up and did that on his own

Turnovers anyone?

All mental errors hurt...especially in close games...but you can't have that many turnovers against anyone, FOUR, like last night (plus 3 more fumbles that Maryland couldn't recover) and expect to win games.

But I don't think anyone expected Milton to finish his first game with not one, not two, not three, not four, not five but SIX Fumbles?

I don't agree at all. We all wanted a true freshman in there who has been on campus a few months going up against a Big-10 team at THAT pace and we are complaining about 1 pick and a few fumbles on the handoff exchange, questionable call at the end, etc.

You have to take the good with the bad in his first game. I wasn't surprised at all at the turnovers actually. Why would I be? I wouldn't have been surprised if he threw 3 picks or a pick 6. THE GUY STARTED HIS FIRST GAME. He totally gets a lot of free passes to make SEVERAL mistakes.

I agree with a lot of this. The fake punt really hurt. The kid was probably supposed to do "a roll out or rolling" punt, but the Maryland defensive player broke through and gave him no room to punt it. That was big.

Yes, why aren't we getting the ball into Akins hands more??

Why Is Hamilton getting only 12 carries and Killins 5?? On that last drive, we should have ran it in with Hamilton, since he hasn't been stopped much in all 3 games.

I liked the run on our 11, but I think we should have went for 2 in overtime to end it.

Turnovers to be expected. I expected picks more and fumbles a little less. All the same. 36 throws and 1 pick.

We need to run Hamilton more near the goal line as well. He can make a nice cut and he does have good push/drive. He rarely gets stopped for a loss. He needs 15-20 carries and Killlins about 10.

Not sure why we aren't talking more about how the defensive line was completely gassed at the end and their QBs ran it at will. At times, the entire starting Defensive line was on the bench at one point and the 2nd team played poorly.

We knew that we had a beastly front 3, and it showed last night. However, we also knew that we were dangerously thin and it came back to haunt us.

He threw the ball 1-2 yards backwards. It wasn't touched by their dline or his helmet. So, it was a lateral that the defense recovered

This IS a good thing. I want 4 more years of these guys!

Why have you last seen the offensive line give a UCF QB so much time against a P5 school??

Before they got tired, when did you last see a defensive line play this well against a P5 school?

Their QB's passing stats were terrible and he was sacked a lot. How
Many sacks did we have? 5? 6?

The head ref used to be Big East. He's the schmuck that always puts his non-pointing arm into a fist by his sternum when he points to whether the offense or defense has a penalty.

He has single-handedly screwed USF on more than a few occasions.

Why did Payton not play the second half?
Who wants to bet that we will have another true freshman starting at QB next season?

I think he did. He ran back the kickoffs and may have ran the ball once. I'm not sure if the run was in the first half or second. He's a little overrated IMO, however he did return the kicks with more authority. I think he maybe a tad slow or plays like it at times. Maybe it's his running style. Also, he's not a physically aggressive player.

1. Gave up 6 more points than Maryland
2. Scored 6 less than Maryland
3. To many turnovers.

Sunday morning quarterbacking. Suit up and try playing in that steam bath last night. Their Defensive Coordinator switched to all QB runs in OT after we shut down their pass and began focussing on their RBs. Hamilton had another good game, but Wilson got us yards every time we needed them. Why are folks so upset and petty? It was an amazing game against a Big 10 team that is very well coached and will do well this season.
