So this asswipe sees his neighbors arguing. The woman slaps her boyfriend and apparently locks him outside to which he breaks the glass to gain entry. And what does he do? Grabs a gun, fires a shot into the ground and orders the other guy to leave the premises after a situation that was none of his business in the first place.

He even told the cops that he didn't feel threatened (since the other guy was unarmed) so he just pissed away any sort of stand your ground defense.

Sorry dude, no excuse for reacting that way and I hope he gets a minimum of 30 just on general principle.

You can use deadly force in most places if you are defending another from grave bodily harm or death. The same principles apply as self defense except the other is threatened, not you. So you wouldn’t feel in fear for your life. Similar to how the guy in the Texas church shooting went out to get his gun and returned to the scene to tag the shooter.

I don’t know enough about this one to say one way or another, but if the guy didn’t articulate that he was defending the woman from an imminent threat of grave bodily harm or injury, then he has no chance.

He will be ok. Everyone has empathy towards women in danger. There might be a violent history we don't know about.

Jury's also have empathy for a man that's cut down by a quick trigger neighbor for no apparent reason. There are no indications that the woman was in grave or imminent danger, and although there may have been some domestic violence issues in the past the neighbor most likely wouldn't have known about that since he was merely "visiting" his sister that day. Sorry, but you just can't go around shooting every guy that has an argument with his girlfriend and shows a little frustration.

Sounds like a dare.
