Ok, that game sucked last night. Congrats to ECU for kicking our butts. I hate losing like everyone but ya gotta give it up to ECU. They played great.

AAC Conference Standings:

Tulane 4-0
Cinci 3-0
UCF 2-1
Houston 2-1
ECU 3-2
Memphis 2-3
Navy 2-3
SMU 1-2
Tulsa 1-2
Temple 0-3
Duh*Bulls 0-3

UCF has the opportunity to still be in the conference race. If we beat both Cinci and Tulane we would be in first place with tie breakers in our advantage.

Must win out. Forget the playoffs, forget rankings, forget all of that, just win.

Tall task, but doable.

Tie breaker being head to head is only used when its 2 teams. If 3 or 4 teams are tied it will go to composite rankings. If We beat Cincy and Tulane, those 2 and Houston win all other games, we could be 4th based on rankings.

There is a lot of parity in the conference. It’s still entirely up for grabs. Gus schemes well in the big home games
Cincinnati has won 18 straight conference games with back to back conference titles.

They may not win pretty, but they win. UCF didn't win pretty in half their games in 2013.

This week in American the road teams went 3-2. Not 0-5 or 1-4. Its sho the teams are. Not where its played.

We have USF "on the road" to end the season. When they wax us we won't ever hear the end of it. Why can't UCF win on the road these days???
I still think we are trending in the right direction but, should we lose to usf, it’s Gus bus hot seat time 😅

Their QB1 is done for the year and the QB2 is now on our roster. They also give up like 45 ppg. If they “wax” us in a glorified home game to knot up the series, lawd have mercy.

If we won out then loser of tulane/cincy would have only 1 loss assuming they didnt lose another game. However, houston only has one loss and they miss us and cincy and have already lost to tulane
If we win out we would play in and host the CCG game. We would have 1 conference loss. The loser of the Cincy/Tulane game would have 2 conference losses. Only potential for a 3 way tie would be if Houston and the winner of Cincy/Tulane wins out and we also win out. In that case it would eliminate houston first because they have 3 losses and would rank below the other 2 teams. Then the other remaining team we would win the head to head tiebreaker over.

If we win out, the loser of Tulane/Cincinnati game will have at least two losses. They would have the loss from that game and also a loss to us.

Yup. Gotta win out.
I like Gus’s post game interview where he said an ECU game will never happen again. (Paraphrasing)

And, not worried about Strength of schedule at this point in time but Louisville beat/killed #10 Wake Forest yesterday.

Good win for FSU. they needed it.

Anybody know how they tag the top two teams with tie breakers for the AAC conference champ game?

Could we have a rematch with Cincy?

Houston remaining schedule: @smu, temple, @ecu, tulsa
Tulane remaining schedule: @tulsa, UCF, SMU, @cinci
Cinci remaining schedule: Navy, ECU, @temple, Tulane
UCF remaining schedule: @memphis, @tulane, navy, @duh*bulls

If its 2 teams its head to head. If multiple it goes to rankings.

Many scenarios read here https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ame...e team with the highest,be used to break ties.

Season begins Saturday at 3:30 in Memphis. Gus should start every practice this week by asking the team “Did you enjoy the flight home after the East Carolina game? No? Well keep that feeling every day this week. Let it sink in, then dedicate yourselves to not allowing that happen again!“ Drum it into their brains, constantly reminding them but also pointing out their play against Cincinnati has put a championship within reach, as long as everyone keeps focused. Charge On and JWB! Knight Nation believes!

Team selection

The two teams with the best winning percentage in conference play will play in the Championship Game. If there's a two-team tie for first place, both teams will play in the Championship Game. In the event that two teams are tied for second place, head-to head result would break the tie. If the two teams did not play, the team with higher CFP Rankings will be in the Championship game. If a team or teams lose in the final weekend of the Conference play to create a tie, and there are subsequent CFP rankings, those subsequent rankings break ties.

If regular season ends and the Championship Game is scheduled for the next Saturday, the following tiebreakers are used:

  1. if one of the tied teams wins in the final week it will be in the Championship. If that team loses, a composite average of selected computer rankings are used to determine participants.
  2. If both teams are ranked in the latest CFP Rankings, the higher ranked team that wins in the final weekend will be in the Championship.
  3. If neither of the tied teams ranked in the latest CFP Rankings win, a composite average of selected computer rankings are used to determine participants.
  4. If no teams are ranked in the latest CFP Rankings rankings, a composite average of selected computer rankings are used to determine participants.
The following procedures are used when there's a multiple team tie.

  1. Conference Records of tied teams in a mini round-robin
  2. The team with higher CFP Ranking; If a team or teams lose in the final weekend of the Conference season to create a tie, and there are subsequent CFP rankings, those subsequent rankings break ties.
If regular season ends and the Championship Game is scheduled for the next Saturday, the following tiebreakers are used to break multi-team ties:

  1. if the highest ranked team in the latest CFP Rankings wins in the final week it will be in the Championship. If that team loses, a composite average of selected computer rankings are used to break ties.
  2. If there are multiple teams ranked in the latest CFP Rankings, the higher ranked team or teams that wins will be in the Championship.
  3. If neither of the tied teams are ranked in the latest CFP Rankings win, a composite average of selected computer rankings are used to break ties.
  4. If no teams are ranked in the latest CFP Rankings ranked, a composite average of selected computer rankings are used to break ties.

I'm too hung over for this sh*t.

Main gist of above article:

The Green Wave and UCF have full control of the conference right now.

Tulane will host the AAC title game if they win out, or UCF will host by winning out (play Tulane on Nov. 12). That may seem like a two-team race, but UC has that final contest against Tulane looming.

Today's Games:

Tulane @Tulsa Noon ESPNU
usf @Temple 2pm ESPN+ (battle for last place)
UCF @Memphis 3:30pm ESPN2
Navy @Cinci 4pm ESPNU
Houston @SMU 7pm NFL Network
