#1 Seed Temple will be making its 17th appearance in the NIT (tied for 5th most of all-time).
Memphis did not get a NIT invite (or any other post-season invite).
NIT Tourn will use a 30 sec shot clock (instead of 35) plus the defensive 3 foot ring underneath basketball will expand to 4 feet. (open up more room in the lane).
With some conf tourn games in the 30's and 40 pt range...NCAA is trying to increase scoring with these changes which may become permanent soon.
