Airbus 320 crashes in foothills of the French Alps

I don't get air sick or anything like that, I just get freaked out. It's so bad that when I am on a flight I can't even get out of my seat to go to the bathroom; the motion of the plane while I am walking around is really unnerving to me. I just hold it until I land.

I doubt I could get a Xanax anyway, that's a prescription, right?

If you are over thirty and can't get your doctor to prescribe you two or three Xanax because you have a severe fear of flying and flying can't be avoided, then you need to change doctors or go see him/her more often.

Yes, it requires a Rx.

And regarding the motion: just pretend you're riding a waterbed across the country.

Okay, I will ask her for some the next time I fly. I have neve asked for them before so I couldn't tell you if she would say no or not. But she's pretty cool so I think she would hook me up.

Thanks.

If you've never taken it then try it at HOME before getting on a plane. The worst thing possible would be trying a prescription drug for the first time while flying at 30,000 feet. I've heard lots of stories of people taking pills and sleeping pills while flying and having it go horribly wrong.

Reports coming out of France today is that there has been found cell phone video from one of the passengers and/or crew members that captures the last moments of the flight.

From link:

Screams of "Oh my God" in several different languages can reportedly be heard on the video, as well as a heavy banging - presumably that of the pilot on the cockpit door, according to the French magazine. At one point the camera shakes violently, likely at the moment the plane's right wing hit a mountain before it crashed into another head-on.
