Amazon picks HQ2 locations

It's looking like the taxpayers of New York are paying through the yingyang for a portion of the Amazon headquarters...$48,000 per Amazon hq job. That's a lot of money since Amazon plans for about 25,000 jobs in New York.

This Amazon headquarters 'campaign' was the ultimate con job. You've got to give Bezos and his cronies major props for pulling this off so successfully.

First, instead of announcing he was expanding the number of Amazon offices, he marketed the new one as The Biggie and generated massive buzz and had city officials all trying to outdo each other to be The One.

Second, he got MAJOR demographic data on all the major American cities for free.

Three, he got DOUBLE the tax concessions by ultimately splitting his "one big headquarters" in half and going with both NYC and DC.

Lastly, Bezos ended up doing what he was likely to have done anyway. I heard on industry person say that if you want to know where a new corporate HQ is going, look to where the CEO lives or wants to live. For what its worth, Bezo has homes within a half-hour of both DC and New York.

Amazon cancels plans to build New York headquarters

In the statement, Amazon noted that "a number of state and local politicians have made it clear that they oppose our presence and will not work with us to build the type of relationships that are required to go forward with the project we and many others envisioned in Long Island City."

Ok. I read into it more. Amazon was seeking 3 billion in government incentives. 25,000 jobs, likely specialist positions, created, but everywhere Amazon goes living expenses go soaring.

The idiot actually thinks that the $3B can now be used for other things. She has zero business intelligence, perfect for her district. Sometimes you deserve what you vote for.

Amazon has been disingenuous about its 'new HQs' from the start and they were the ones who broke the deal with New York that they'd already made. But the spectacle of some national Progressives applauding the loss of jobs is about as lame-brained as it gets.

The one thing that gives our Idiot-in-Chief a chance of actually getting reelected is giving him the opportunity to point to the reaction of AOC and other Progressives to the Amazon pullout and say, "See? Those evil progressives are against jobs for working people."

Agree entirely. The sycophant extremists on the left are off the rails and they have to compete with the moderate and pragmatic trump in 2020.
