How is it possible that the AAC has a conference network and they have graphics calling us Central Florida. Jeez, how can we get on ESPN's case when our own dang conference does it?

I didn't say announcers. I said graphics.
We are the university of central florida. If we don't like being called central florida then bite the bullet now and switch to the university of orlando.
It's mind boggling the logic some posters have. They want to shut down discussion of name changes but then get mad when an announcer calls us Central Florida.
The AAC doesn't have it's own conference network. The American Sports Network unfortunately has a similar name, but they mainly produce broadcasts of FCS and CUSA games to be put on the CW
If you don't want to be called Central Florida or CFU then change our name back to Florida Technological University or University of Orlando.Oh stop it you goobers! This had nothing to do with the announcers. This was a produced graphic - something someone spent enough time to research our school colors and incorporate them into it. This is about respect for teams you have a contract with. We have asked media partners to refer to us as UCF because that is what we want our branding to be.
How many times have we been at away games and the local paper refers to us as CFU? That's because arseholes like our own freaking media partners continue to refer to us as simply Central Florida. Those not really familiar just assume you add University to the end and you're set (ala simply using Marshall or Florida State in a graphic).
We are the University or Central Florida or UCF, that is all. We have no branding anywhere that simply lists us as Central Florida. If the producers wanted to use our full name that's fine, but they didn't. Our conference media network chose to refer to the largest school in the conference, the only school to actually carry their local TV market, by a name that they have been specifically told numerous times not to do. That is a problem.
