Anti-LGBT Executive Order Looks to be Next

LOL- I can just sense how mad you are. Your media fanboyz look even worse and now you can't cry and rage about how Trump is coming for the LGBT people.

Another victory of SJW fear mongering.
I can assure you I'm less angry than Paul Ryan and the others in Washington who have to support this clustershow.

Trump just released a statement saying he would NOT revoke the 2014 EO that issued LGBT protections and remains committed to LGBT rights for the duration of his Presidency.

As I said above- more Fake News from biased, despicable media outlets, hell bent on pushing false stories.
Trump has called the NY Times fake news, so I guess this is a fake story.*

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/30/...tections-lgbt-workers.html?smid=fb-share&_r=0

President Trump continues to be respectful and supportive of L.G.B.T.Q. rights, just as he was throughout the election,” the statement said. “The president is proud to have been the first ever G.O.P. nominee to mention the L.G.B.T.Q. community in his nomination acceptance speech, pledging then to protect the community from violence and oppression.”

The decision to keep the order, the statement added, was Mr. Trump’s. It uses stronger language than any Republican president has before in favor of equal legal protections for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people, though that is not likely to quiet Mr. Trump’s critics on the lef
t."

And of course, it doesn't mean this is the end-all, be-all on the subject

"Leaving those protections, of course, does not preclude another executive order that would roll back gay rights in other areas. Mr. Trump could, for example, still enshrine a religious freedom provision in federal policy."

The Washington Post has been busted twice in the last 6 months for having either false or misleading information where they had to revise or retract their stories. That doesn't discredit the whole paper forever. It comes with the territory of "First to Print". In the same way, I don't take Trump calling the NYT fake news a global, indefinite proclamation on the paper as a whole. I see it as Trump calling out the particular articles he feels are false or misrepresented. Context is key here.

Maybe in this instance:

But not in this one:

Meh. He uses the "FAKE NEWS" buzz word for hype and attention (which I can't stand about him), but he's essentially saying they're a failing newspaper that hasn't been correct in any of their predictions on him.
They're not failing though. Their subscriptions are at an all-time high. If anything's fake, it's Trump's claim that they're failing.

Fair enough. Paper subscriptions, in general, have been falling for years but I suspect the NYT is an outlier. My initial response was to your point that he classifies the NYT as fake news. I'm saying that he uses that as a buzz word to call attention to their inability to have a correct prediction on him.

Right. And having an incorrect prediction is a far cry from intentionally reporting something that is false.

Is it just the 4 letters or are all the letters gonna get in on this one? I'm pretty sure there are some men who want to be crocodiles or dragonflies that want to be civil war naval pilots that are also included, no?

It's an odd 4 letters to choose, isn't it? I get 'G', we already have 'J' they're basically interchangeable. Maybe I can be convinced that 'V' is a suitable replacement for B. But L & T?!?
And how did C&K avoid scrutiny? I mean sometimes C makes the K sound, sometimes the S sound. I'm no fan of K either, I mean sometimes it makes no sound at all, it's basically a freeloading deadbeat letter. In my view there are only two possible explanations. Trump is in Kellogg's pocket and they don't want to rebrand Special-K or Trump is a closet Klans-man.

Right. And having an incorrect prediction is a far cry from intentionally reporting something that is false.

Prediction?
These clowns were claiming sources and coming out with explicit "details" on the supposed EO.

The Washington Post has been caught pushing Fake News at least 4 times now since Trump's election.

G2BAK and I were talking about the predictions posted about the primaries and elections, not the EO.

And there still *could* be an EO. Trump's statement yesterday does not exclude the possibility.

Don't even get me started on Y. It's like, dude, you can't sometimes be a vowel. Either you're born a vowel or you're not. You can't just identify as a vowel because you're at the end of the alphabet. X doesn't get anything besides marking the spot and being a hug on a card, but it doesn't try and sneak in with other letter groups. Y is a jerk. Its more like "Y u be trippin?"

I struggle with why a federal employee should have to perform a service if it's against their individual religious beliefs, as long as the service can be provided by someone else (a different individual) in the same government office at the same time with no inconvenience to the person seeking services.

Religious groups need the same protection under the law afforded to other interest groups.
Because religion has no place in government

I agree with you here. As I said, Trump is going for hype and attention. He won't get the same reaction with a tweet that says, "Man these guys are terrible at predicting political outcomes." Using "FAKE NEWS" and NYT in a tweet is an attention grabber. I can't stand that about him but I don't think he is truly denouncing all news from the NYT.

Why do the traps get lumped in with the gays

Why are the gays quick to defend the traps

Trap is a significant mental disorder

It's not religion in government. The government can still provide the service

It's a matter of not discriminating against the individual
When you take a job as a government employee you are supposed to follow the law, if your religion has a problem with the law and you don't follow the law, you should be terminated.

Well at least we don't have all those queer marks above our letters like most european countries. Even mexico has squiggly lines and **** above their vowels. Its why I support the wall. Keep that nonsense down there.

That's discrimination

Sounds like "the law" needs amending

I'm glad that this rumor didn't come to fruition. Who knows, maybe there is a draft out there and they chose against going through with it based on who knows what reasons.

People need to stop yelling FAKE NEWS every time a source is wrong or they disagree with what the outlet is saying. It makes ACTUAL fake news seem more real and blurs the lines of what is actually fake and what just doesn't pan out.

There is a huge difference between someone having an incorrect source saying there is an EO circulating and someone saying Hillary Clinton is running a child prostitution ring out of a pizza parlor.

While I agree, it seems that other minority religions seem to get a pass for this type of thing, while christians dont. Im not ok with the double standard.

No....it's not.

What's not what?

Are you saying that preventing someone of a particular faith from being a federal employee and exercising their religion in the course of such job is in fact not discrimination?

Do you feel that muslims should be prevented from praying during working hours if they have a government job?

No, there really isn't. Fake news is fake news.

i get what you are trying to say, but this is a perfect example of fake news. For the majority of people who read this guys twitter they will believe that there is an executive order, even if it never happens.

As a Federal employee, you shouldn't be able to DENY service to anyone based on things such as religion, sexual orientation, race, etc.One person is tendering the service, one person is receiving that service. I can't DENY you service based on your religion either.

Answer the call of the question. Do you believe Muslims should be able to pray during working hours if they are a federal employee?

It's discrimination on the part of the employee. That's what's wrong. When you take a job with the government, you are an agent of the government. Thusly, if you choose to discriminate your actions, the government has de facto been part of that discrimination.

What you're suggesting is having (multiple?) duplicate positions to cover any perceived slight based on personal policy, where government funding is involved. That is not practical in most cases. What you would advocate is a massive expansion of bureaucracy and waste.

Incorrect, if the government office still makes provisions for such services.

This is the cost of accommodating minority interests. You cannot trample on the rights of the majority in order to cut corners.

Equal protection under the law.

If you have an issue with a policy, you shouldn't take the job. There are other jobs. Part of the qualifications include impartiality towards ANY protected classes. That's Civil Rights LAW.
