The FBI director admitted this will likely lead to other DA's from all over the country submitting warrant request to have the same thing done for their cases.
Most tech bloggers with a brain I've read have declared McAfee's claim to be a wad of bullshit. He's also a conspiracy theorist nut, thus you love him.
McAfee is definitely crazy, but his claim isnt too far off.
Nobody would deny the backdoor if offered.
The FBI is not dumb despite the nut's attempt to make you believe this. It's insane to think that they haven't already quietly solicited hackers far better than McAfee to get into the phone and get the data that they need. If no one has been able to do it yet, then it's not feasible to think this nut is going to do it in 3 weeks or less.

You're not going to be wrongly accused in a case that will involve the FBI going to Apple/Congress to get your phone cracked.

See, bob doesnt get that this fight isn't about the FBI cracking your phone. Its about the local police/sheriffs doing it. If the FBI wins, it will have a terrible effect. Let me spell this out for you. You are an idiot if you dont think theyve already cracked the encryption by now. This is a fight to keep your privacy. This is about keeping your rights as a citizen.

Just stop. McAfee ran a company that made antivirus software. That does not make him some uber hacker that can crack any security by any means.
Not him personally, but he has a rather gifted team. They would do all the work, he would take the credit.
And the ability to pull information off of it. No need for Apple to get involved.

So according to McAfee the FBI had a way into the phone the entire time. They were simply wanting to use the terrorist attack to set legal precedence.
And there should be legal precedent. Apple is essentially marketing their phones to criminals and terrorists with the encryption they're putting on these phones. 99% of town/city/county police departments don't have the resources to get into these phones.
I think their marketing them non-criminals who don't want their data stolen.
The best part is Apple now wanting the FBI to tell them how they cracked the phone, so they can prevent it from happening in the future.
