Apple membership

Son wants one for Xmas. I'm an android user and don't know much about Apple.

What little research I did, it looks like a streaming only service. Is that right? Is it worth it?

I'll rely on the Apple sheeple to help me out.

Apple Music? It's their streaming option, I don't use any music streaming mainly because I was spending so much time flying I'd rather have it downloaded. That said, it's just like any of the other streaming services, but Apple can get some exclusives, just as any other one can.

I have Apple Music and I am happy with it. It got better with iOS 10. However, any of those services will work really. Spotify, Apple Music, they're all basically the same thing.
