Rizk looked eerily similar to McKenzie

Regardless how Rizk does, Malzahn is looking in the portal for his next Cam Newton. There is a reason why Rizk was 4th in the depth chart in the eyes of Malzahn. He has his mind made up in regards to the QB position.
Why does Gus give Rizk the time of day when he's just looking for another Cam Newton?

So you believe Malzahn is 100% behind his 4th stringer that saw the field after a 17 year old true freshman to be his starter next year?

Gus should only be exposed to recruits and making phone calls to them. Any development of any player should be left to others. In addition there should be a restraining order from him to go anywhere near the quarterback room.
*sticks head in QB room* hey guys you see this barn door? if you can hit it, you're not my kinda player.

Rizk will save the head ball coach’s job this year. It’s either an unchecked amount of pride or someone has him in his back pocket… baffling how he keeps choosing the wrong QB, despite the fact that others are winners <insert the Gata Slaya>.

He’s got to stop relying on Cam Newton to advise him how to run the program.

1000% this. Let’s hope we can enjoy a few more wins this season and have Gus get the boot in the immediate future.

Theres certain things you cant teach. One is instinct. Rizk knew when pressure was coming and routinely bought himself time.

Kj and jacurri acted like they had 10 seconds in pocket before getting routinely sacked.

Im impressed by rizk and i think he is the way to go forward. Wr’s were happy because they were getting the ball alot this game and it opened up running lanes for RJ

Definitely excited about Rizk's potential. Great he got the success he did going into this tough road game against ASU. From what I'm seen of them Rizk is gonna have to keep us in the game because they are gonna score points.

The man has some touch, Hallelujah!

it was always a positive reflection on rizk's ability that he was 4th. YOU DO NOT want gus to like you as a QB.

Great screen name, by the way (assuming it's in reference to the early 50s film). Chalkboard Jungle is another classic of similar name.

Anyway, carry on.

Too bad Gus didn't have a background in "Rizk" management before he went through 3 qb's to find one who can actually pass.
That's very clever and funny; unfortunately, I doubt Gus found Rizk. In fact I am willing to bet he did everything he could not to have Rizk start yesterday. Every QB we have had who could pass, Gus ran off. He didn't want Rizk for QB if he did Rizk wouldn't have been the 4th string QB. I just hope he is not allowed to run Rizk off. It is really time for Gus to either give up Offensive playcalling and meddling, retire, or get fired.

I agree. I was trying to be diplomatic. Lol

For a player who has rarely seen the field or gotten reps in practice, he really looked poised. Quick decisions and pass release. Good on his progressions. High percentage of receptions. Evaded the rush. Ran effectively. Great energy and enthusiasm. What's not to like? I'm sorry but I still have to wonder why was he warming the bench?

Goes back to Gus' poor decisions...IMHO

A natural QB. Like somebody already mentioned, you can't teach instincts. No need to wonder. The reason is Gus Malzahn.
