Yes and no. At least he didn't hold out for a big buyout. He did beat the Gators in a bowl game with Mikey playing QB. He knew there was no path forward for him at UCF. The crowd was yelling to have him fired, and that would have intensified if he had returned. Potential recruits and fans were commenting about the play calling on offense and defense. The lack of preparation was obvious. Some of the games were like spring games in October or November. He was a good recruiter, but when he left, so did the recruits. He may be a big help to Florida State. He could help their recruiting out. He was also a good speaker. Some of the press conferences after big wins were entertaining.

HAIL NAW!! He left many people unhappy and confused. He paid a lot of money to a QB that was a flop (which cost us a few games). His play calling was horrible at times! AND...he made bad decisions! ...IMHO

I thought he did a good job with recruiting and working with A.D. to raise money. Organization wise I give him a good grade but his onfield production was a big letdown considering some of the 4 star talent he was bringing in.

Alex Haynes needs to be in the Hall of Fame

On Monday, we launched our official campaign to get former UCF Running Back Alex Haynes inducted into the UCF Athletics Hall of Fame. Alex had an impressive career as a Knight, and is currently third in career rushing yards and sixth in career TDs. Also, keep in mind that Alex compiled those stats playing three seasons in Mike Kruczek’s spread offense and the winless season of 2004, making it even more impressive.
