Article with detailed breakdown of our new offense

Schneider is long gone, right?
Also, now that we've gone to a 3-4 defense, I'd assume some of last years DTs (who are typically lighter and more mobile than OL players -- but just right for an Oregon OL) would have been switched to offense. Does anyone know if that was done in Spring or mentioned for fall practice?

Schneider transferred to Pitt. I think that because we lost so many players on the D-line, that I have not heard of any players changing lines.

I'm thinking other way around. There's a few big guys on OL that could
possibly backup our Nose Tackle position.

I bet Patti or Dinovo will be the starter next year unless Holman does a 180.
you would lose that bet, guaranteed. Dinovo should not be in this conversation.
Holman has the arm and can run, Kruzcek is probably #2 and then Milton would get the nod after that.

Thanks for responding so promptly to a post from December 2015. Things have changed just a little since that discussion. There was something called a spring game with about 100 discussions about this topic since then. Did you attend? You should change your handle to alittletoolate, biglate, or rip van winkle. Kidding.

By the way, even though I'm not so high on Dinovo anymore, he apparently looked pretty good today in practice. Nothing is off the table after an 0-12 season.

Question: doesn't Holman most closely resemble Marcus Mariota's physical size and weight?
Yes he does. I would bet Holman is actually a little bigger and stronger. However, Mariota had elite speed for a QB and was quite accurate. He rarely threw an INT. If anyone on this roster can be even remotely close to Mariota, we should be thrilled. I do think we have a QB on this current roster who can run this offense effectively, but I'm not sure who it is yet. I'm sure Frost has a better idea everyday.

I agree. And a couple who are undersized for OL may go over to get a try at DE. Several current OL guys who are not projected to be in the rotation have DL experience at UCF or were strong on the DL in HS.

After seeing video of Milton at practice last week, I all of a sudden would not be surprised if he plays this year instead or redshirting, despite his less than ideal size. We already knew of his quickness, but also he has a gun of an arm with accuracy also.

Still, I agree that we probably start out with Holman or Kruczek. But if they falter, Milton may be ready to step up in 2016.

We did that with a Miami frosh QB a few years ago. Boy, was that exciting!

Also check out his coming out party vs. NCState when he turned a rout into a near win. Outrageous comeback. The ACC opponent was in full panic!

Do we get a depth chart before the season starts or no?
Which still won't tell us anything about positions that are 5 or 6 deep, like quarterback or running back. Even tight end in this system is barely distinguished from just another receiver. No more GOL-type double (or triple in the case of H back) tight ends weighing up to 255 and totalling 4 catches in a season. As Frost's assistants keep emphasizing, we'll see lots of 3rd team players seeing substantial playing time on offense just to let players catcher their breath.
