I'm as environmental as anyone, but having a girl look crazy doesn't help. Start slapping India and China with global tariffs until they can meet basic standards. Waste of time unless they are onboard.

There is knowing that climate change is an issue and wanting some steps taken to help alleviate that, and then there is hysterically screaming at people about "mass extinction" like this kid did. One is a reasonable take on the issue, the other is absolute zealous idiocy pushed by those who want to brainwash people into believing we're 12 years away from being wiped out, as our resident idiot in Congress from the Bronx believes.
So yes, she was clearly brainwashed and coached to be as dramatic as possible.

You don't believe scientists on mass extinction either? She didn't bring that out of no where, it has been written about and talked about now for several years.
Nobody thinks we are going to be wiped out in 12 years. 12 years is when some scientists believe it will be irreversible.
Yes I'm aware of these ultra hyperbolic conclusions being pushed by people that champion one single study as all the proof we need. You do realize there is massive debate around this "Sixth Extinction" premise and it's not even remotely a settled debate in scientific circles, yes? Just read through your links and see how many of their points are referenced by "one study suggests". Apologies if I need a hell of a lot more peer reviewed data than this to start setting my clock for "mass extinction" in 20 years.

No, it's extremely well funded by the tax payers and lobbyists. It's also worked wonders for many energy and other companies who have received preferable legislation thanx to their lobbyists that has allowed them to buy up companies and get taxpayer funding, even bailouts, by destroy competition while improving their alleged 'green' rating.

This girl indirectly represents everything that is wrong in the world right now -- blame and hate -- as she has been institutionalized by education, politicians and parents. I always enjoyed the 'Tenth Crusade' argument, utterly forgetting the English, French and other European Imperialism of the 19th and 20th centuries. I.e., People purposely don't want to look at history when it doesn't work with their agenda, and demonization of those in the current.
I do believe Climate Change is occurring and is man-made. The problem is that we're so busy lobbying the gov't for far worse policies, and complete lunacy in policies. There's good money for lobbyists and the entities they represent right now, and they are fully taking advantage of it too.
California is waking up to the fact that building solar panel farms is pretty wasteful when you don't build associated infrastructure and model usage, among other things. Until consumers feel their own impact, and keep blaming others and wanting others to solve this, this will continue. Fisker was a perfect example of people thinking a luxury electric car is the solution, among other things.

This is Progessivism in a nutshell. Liberals are dead. Progressives have taken W.'s "You're either with us or against us" literally, and that means blame and hatred, especially for Liberals who question them.
It's sad. People are trying to hold her up as a hero and demanding she go around yelling at people more, but she's clearly suffering from anxiety and/or other social disorders. I read that she's had anxiety and panic attacks since she was 5 years old due to her parents and people around her imposing their doom and apocalyptic outlook for the world on her.

Analyzing the parenting that resulted in the minor’s behavior and potential issues should not be off limits. Hell, analyzing minors shouldn’t be off limits. Attacking them should be off limits but that is different. But if we can’t analyze minors, how are we ever going to deal with them violently going off the rails?
