so for the last 2 games, Dawkins has decided that our offense should run through Tacko, feeding him early and often with his back to the basket and let him run the offense...wow...was that a mistake! Two games, less than 100 total points and Tacko has -0- points in both...when Tacko has another true big on him and then gets double or tripled teamed, he's a turnover machine and simply not capable (at this time) of handling it...maybe Dawkins is throwing him into the fire and hoping he'll learn but, so far, it ain't working....

luckily we won 1 of those 2 games and Dawkins has time, this season, to figure out how to best use Tacko in these different situations....he needs to since, in the last 2 games, Tacko has taken a step backward and it must be corrected now and permanently fixed with Tacko's further development in the offseason and next year.....

BJ returns and suddenly nobody knows how to play with each other. He refuses to kick the ball out for open 3s off his drives as UConn's real point guard did a dozen times. When BJ came in last Tuesday, we were scoreless against ECU, he scored 10 quick points (and no more for 20 minutes) as he became this ball hog and everyone stands around watching him. Tacko stopped drawing fouls, AJ got lodged under the basket against bodies 50 pounds heavier, and Matt became the "other" shooting guard. As the excellent announcing team stated, BJ is a slow but muscular shooting guard.

At this point, with the turnovers and missed free throws (never mind ice cold shooting when we're on the road), I can't figure out whether or not it's coaching or player lack-o-skill. These slacker passes and shooting 44% from the line just doesn't cut it.

At this point ...Tacko has almost zero skills below the hoop to score against an aggressive big guy. Remember how Kevin McHale would pivot and fake and then just dunk?

I know Tacko is young. I hope we see some much needed improvement for his last 2 years.

Frustrated about this arse kicking we took Sunday.

Knight Class: perhaps they were over achievers. Or maybe they've just hit the wall or need a mid-course correction. Likely, too, scouting reports have caught up with how to frustrate the offense. One thing for sure is the collapse of the team stats is across the board (even BJ).

The two guards are taking all the shoots (27/game) in conference, while the other 5 are making the same percentage of shots while taking just 4 to 5.5 a game. When 2 players are taking more shots than your other 5 combined, that lack of playing like a team also explains why UCF is averaging only 6 assists in 4 conference games!
