Bama safety transferring

I try to curb my expectations for Power 5 transfers so if they actually pan out I'll have something to be excited about.

I think of it as a numbers game where Storm Johnson who helped us to a Fiesta Bowl was the #3 back behind Duke Johnson and I forget who else. Not as big of an impact position, but I think similar situations. I think it's a big get, but yes, time will tell.

This right here. Regardless of their high school starts, they are leaving for a reason; and that's usually lack of skill at the next level. Sorry, but I remember that ND transfer we had a couple years ago. Did he even record a catch?

Good for depth, but not expecting much out of this kid.

Again, that is a different scenario with the ND transfer. He wasn't making it to the field after multiple years and it isn't like ND is the mecca of WR's. He did see the field with the most talented defensive players in the whole country. Still no guarantee, but I'll take a guy that was able to make it on the field as a true freshman on Alabama with 3 years remaining every time.

3 years? He has to sit out a year, so only two I thought?

He earned some playing time as a true freshmen at Alabama (mostly special teams) so he will be able to use his redshirt next year while he sits out...leaving 3 years of eligibility left at UCF.

Certainly worth the risk...especially with 3 years of eligibility left.

From Coconut Creek (Broward County)

He was a 4 star DB when he committed to Alabama. Definitely worth it especially since he did see some playing time.

Ball hawk, loves to tackle.
As a former college corner and free safety, I can say with conviction SBB is awesome in the secondary. However, I am concerned about whether his ego is a good fit at UCF. He brazenly tweeted a couple of days ago "I just want a jeep". Interesting timing for a kid who is contemplating where he will transfer. I just hope a jeep doesn't mysteriously show up in his yard as it is announced he is choosing UCF. We don't need him that badly.

I question his wisdom in choosing a Chrysler.

For people questioning how we have the scholarship spot for the Virginia kid, there probably were 1 or 2 JUCO's who did not qualify for the 2016 season which opened up a scholly or two.
