Perfect fit for the position IMO. Local guy (from Sanford) who has had a ton of different positions in baseball from college to the pros. He was a scout for the LA Angels, hitting coach for the Washington Nationals and the 2008 US Olympic team, and is currently an assistant coach at UK.

I don't know about his recruiting prowess, but i have witnessed and experienced his coaching first hand. His baseball knowledge especially as it pertains to hitting is off the charts. Would be a nice change of pace from Rooney.
