I’ve seen some of the other away game travel threads get posted so figured I’d add the Baylor one. My Fiancé’s sister is a senior at Baylor and we were there in December for Christmas and we visited a few cool places while there.
For BBQ, Terry Blacks was really good. Got some brisket, and probably the best Mac and cheese and Peach Cobbler I’ve ever had.
Obviously, the big hit is going to be the Magnolia Silo District. There are all kinds of things to do around Magnolia, it’s almost like a giant Park Ave. Really good restaurants and bars in the area.
Dallas and Austin are a short drive away. We hit up a Taco place on our way from Dallas to Waco called Tacos Cantù in Duncanville. Really good spot. We also took a day to drive to Austin to check out The Domain Mall in Austin. It’s an outdoor mall similar to Disney Springs but much larger.
The Dr Pepper museum was cool. A little small and not nearly as cool as the Coke Museum, but still gives an interesting history about how Dr Pepper came to be and kind of put Waco on the map.
I was at the Baylor/OU game in 2021 when Baylor upset the Spencer Rattler/Caleb Williams team and rushed the field. The gameday experience was awesome. I really like Baylor’s stadium, it’s very modern and serves to be a really unique environment.
Hotels might be sparse, I did a cursory glance at Hilton hotels and a lot of them were sold out prior to the schedule going live.
Feel free to ask questions about Waco! I can always pass things along to my fiancés sister if anyone needs anything.
