Had to put a lot of thought into my post title, however I thought a good discussion could result from today's press conference introducing our new AD Danny White.
These are some of the things we have learned:
Dr. Hitt basically has turned the keys of hiring our football coach to AD White.
AD White will fly to Atlanta to meet with the company who already has started the process to find us a new football coach.
AD White has indicated it is a very high priority to hire a coach ASAP, however he will only hire a coach when he feels the coach is the right hire.
Believes the coach must be a great recruiter.
AD White made a statement that he believes our program is well established and can expect to hire an experience head coach. Believes a football coach needs to be well organized because of the large amount of players and coaches he is responsible for.
Integrity is a major factor when he is looking who to hire.
Indicated the new coach must be able to hire assistants.
Will emphasize to the new coach that he has a 5 year plan to create a long term winning program.
Did I miss anything?
Based upon those statements does this eliminate young coaches or coordinators?
What we will all learn is how accessible he is in the next couple of weeks, which I expect to be the time table for finding us a new coach. I am sure he will be politically correct until the new coach is named but so far he seems to be someone who is very experienced and confident in what he does for a living...
