Best HC Candidates

Not sold on Kinnie, would’ve much preferred Sumrall. Seems like this 24 hour period of Gus leaving and us already having a coach in line is being done by bean counters. We just saved millions without having to pay Gus and we’re rushing to fill his spot with the lowest bidder?

In other news, the volleyball HC just got her walking papers 😬
I think it’s pretty obvious that this has been in the works for a bit. They probably already had an agreement with Gus’ successor before Friday’s game (I think it’s Kinne). Need to get that finalized quickly as early national signing day is fast approaching as are other P4 openings. Can’t wait around anymore these days.

Kinnie would be a collosal letdown given that his success as a head coach has been dependent on Mack Leftwich, who would be promoted to head coach at Texas State the instant Kinnie bolts.

Y'all aim too high. Gotta be realistic. Nobody wants to follow a legend like Gus.

Tim Harris Jr. Is the leader in the clubhouse. Jeff Scott, Jim Leavitt, and Charlie Strong may have some solid interest. Alex Golesh has been mentioned as a possibility.
Well, it was bound to happen. You’ve finally lost any chance that you’ll ever be taken seriously on this forum after this post. What a moronic statement. Tim Harris has zero credibility and the others don’t even merit discussion.

Kinne does have a lot of players speaking highly of him ..guess the thinking is he could fix the scoring offense issue under Gus w full control

So did Lebby. Kinne would be in way over his head. Everyone wants the next purple squirrel. Make UCF great again. Bring back frosty

AL is either the stupidest person alive or he is the most obnoxious person alive. One or the other there are no other choices.

I thought it was a pretty funny troll myself. All, save Tim Harris Jr., are former cow head coaches, with Alex Golesh being the current head cow.

:D

I couldn't stand to look much at site lately so I was surprised to see news about Gus. If I understand correctly him taking the FSU job has saved us 12million in buyout clause if he was fired. That was a very nice thing Gus did for our program because we all know it wasn't working out. I hope AD does a better job of hiring right fit for next HC. We need someone who knows how to run an offense that knows how to use the speed and finesse of Florida athletes.

Let me throw Kliff Kingsbury out there. Look at what he’s done with rookie Jaden Daniels this season as Washington’s OC. He’s got the experience but is still young. Obviously hasn’t shown he can make a good DC hire though
I see the Bears r looking at him

Texas St has a good offense this year:

Team Statistical Rankings

RushingPassingOverall
Off.209.3
(16th)
265.1
(30th)
6th

Of the 5 losses, 4 were by a TD or less.....one was to Arz St (we know that feeling), one was to 10-2 Louisiana
Am I missing something with these stats? How can they be 6th nationally on offense with rushing ranked 16th and passing 30th?

I have seen some WVU fans want Kinne who just fired Brown

Just confused why so many or high on him w that many losses . Gonna need a breakdown on why

Just looking at the history of Texas State football and they pretty consistently only won 2-4 games for like a decade before he got there. Not sure it's enough to convince me he's the best hire, but he's young, has FBS coaching experience, and can put together a modern offense. Could do worse and could do better, IMO. Should get an interview at least to see what his vision for the program would be.

Didn’t he just sign an extension?

My preference would be a current HC with a good track record.

Sumrall at Tulane should top every list....and bring his QB with him

Other than that, Chadwell and Kinne should be possibilities

Hard NO from me on Frost. At his dream job, he was lazy and spent alot of time cheating on his wife. Milton and and GOL's guys built that 2017 team.
I like Sumrall especially if he brings his QB

What about Weis Jr Ole Miss?
Dude would be Invincible.

If Terry was at Kansas at the time of Weiss tenure there there is no way he goes within 1000 feet of hiring anybody affiliated with him. Weiss was a disaster at Kansas

WTF?

Did you pay any attention to how he was at his "dream job"? Go spend some time on the corn children forum....his lack of morals and work ethic was shocking.....BTW, he sucked as a coach there too.
I come in peace.

Was curious to see if you all would want him back. I think the 12-0 season had way more to do with Milton than Frost. Guy was an athletic freak who knew how to win. Frost should write MM a check for a few million. Just my opinion but you all would be foolish to bring Frost back.

Just hire a guy to kick Colorados ass annually. Glad you all got into a power conference BTW. Well deserved.

Have to admit, I'm still ticked with Frost's comment during an interview after he was hired to coach Nebraska. He said that he wished the ring he'd gotten from UCF just said "Champions" rather than "National Champions." Well, if you really feel that way, Scotty, then pay back the bonus money you got for winning a national championship.

Highly unlikely that Frost will ever coach UCF again, in my opinion.

So I read on a post here that Chadwell accepted the NC job.....except I haven't seen that reported anywhere else. So assume he is still available, I guess

Frost isn’t my first choice but would take him over some of the rumored candidates.

This guy has won at every level he's coached. Imagine what he could do recruiting at a P4 in Florida and not handcuffed by the 5 year military commitment and high academic standards which scares away top recruits from the military academies.

I know his offense is not the most exciting to watch, but he has shown the ability to adapt his offense and change with the times. I'm sure it would still be a run oriented offense, but with Florida skill position talent I'm sure it would be a balanced offense. Plus he has good defenses. After watching our defenses allow teams to run up and down the field at will, I'd love to see our defense get off the field on 3rd and long.

What he's done with the talent he has at a military academy is quite impressive. Having said that, I doubt we hire him.😄

Jeff Monken is a fine football coach.
