Bianchi: UCF misses USF

Nope, they are dead to us and should stay buried....no reason for us to elevate them, we beat them like 10 times in a row or whatever. no need for number 11, 12, 13, etc
UCF keeps trying to start a rivalry with Houston and Cincinnati…easily the three worst teams in the Big 12.

Bianchi in 2025

Having seen two great rivalries come and go for the Huskers over my fifty-plus years of fandom, there’s something special about a passionate, hate-filled rivalry that attracts TV viewers across the nation. And with an iconic moniker like ‘The War on I-4,’ it was destined to grow into one of CFB’s ‘must see’ games. UCF’s 2017 game against the Bulls was one of CFB’s all-time classics—and I’ve seen quite a few to be able to judge.

I understand and can appreciate the vitriol and why you guys want nothing to do with USF. But IMO in a different world, continuing the rivalry would have elevated UCF’s national status even more.

I think USF is a very parochial school that doesn’t have any lights shining on them from a national standpoint. It seems to exert some enthusiasm with the locals, but this is definitely not anything that’s going to elevate Ucf in the national Spotlight.IMO

Who knows we may be able to manufacture a rivalry with Houston based on the Space identities of both schools.

If it is meant to be then they will have to get into a higher conference like we did. Right now, we have plenty of good competition games in Big 12.

Bianchi’s opinion is about as relevant as a drunk uncle.

The next time he accidentally finds himself coveting a UCF home game will be his first time in over a decade.

Do you have a life, or job, or anything else that would save you the 5 minutes of your life in posting all that nonsense that UCF FANS here just laugh at you for?

Winning more than 4 games a season will elevate UCF’s national status, not playing USF.

Bianchi is bored and wants attention. There is a lot of fan apathy for many reasons so he writes what he thinks will get a reaction. It wasn’t an enjoyable Rivalry.

Agree, I miss playing them. The atmosphere!

I never see a USF sticker near me. Kids on this side of state go to UF, FSU, Miami, UCF, Stetson or FAU mostly. Not many go to West Coast. I don’t care about that school at all.

I think UCF-Cinci has the potential to develop into a fun rivalry. It reminds me of those TCU-Utah games during the peak of the Mountain West… throw geography out the window, there’s (historically) been a lot at stake between two good teams when you two play.

I live in an area between the UCF and USF campuses. I also work with graduates from both schools. I see people wearing UCF gear and USF gear quite often. When I see a UCF hat, shirt or sweater, I often say "Charge On." Then it usually leads to a conversation about UCF athletics. They are usually quite knowledgeable. They know about the big 12, the coaches and the different UCF teams. However, whenever I talk to a stranger or co-worker about USF, they usually don't know anything about the new football stadium, the coaches or the athletic teams. They usually say my son or daughter goes there or they are in grad. school there, but they know very little about the sports programs. I only met one man who knew all about USF athletics, and boy did he hate UCF. He was an older man who remembered the Big East and the #2 ranking. He also hated the Bounce House because he had a bad experience there. However, on the average, I would say USF fans are much less engaged in their athletic programs than UCF fans are. The USF people will sometimes start talking about the Bucs, Lightning or Rays instead. They usually tend to know more about the professional teams in Tampa. I think Bianchi is more of a Gator fan. He wants to group us with USF.

This article has really triggered the piss pen. Just 29 pages deep....

Some posters get it....

"playing in an OCS makes it better. Playing a conference slate of KSU, Utah, Kansas...etc makes it better, having a better attendance makes it better, having away fans travel to your stadium on your campus makes it better, being part of the club even if you have a losing season makes it better, being discussed on a national stage makes it better. There is no way you can convince me that being a middle of the road AAC team is better than being a lower tier B12 team."

"Be in the b12, that’s objectively better and they would never trade spots but we absolutely would"

Most still don't get it:

"But moving forward as Bianchi pretty much stated. UCiF needs USF more than we need them right now. Not sure why people disagree with that fact ….."

LOL....

"Anyway back to my point. UCiF needs USF more than USF needs them. Just go look at the history between the two programs. I for one never even knew a rivalry existed until I saw UCiF message board trolls crying for a rivalry with USF. This rivalry was never needed by USF"

C and UCiF are incredibly creative slights. (Eye roooooll)

Rivalry? In the mid-80s I was looking at every public college in the state to attend for Engineering and I never even heard of their school......until the 2000s

usf is UCF new Marshall University. Rearview mirror rival

Boosters remember when usf kept UCF out of BE and will return the favor. UCF will not complain about travel.

Let usf win as many conferences as UCF did before thinking of inviting them.

Bianchi speaks for Bianchi only. UCF is fine without usf.

We 'need it' simply because we're searching around for one and the conference doesn't help much. Houston would have been a good attempt- centered around Space U, but forced rivalries never really work- see Uconn. Unless something exciting happens on the field like Nakia Reddick or Emil Ekiyor's sack that pissed off ECU for decades, all we really can look forward to is some good games that in a decade or so turns into a rivalry. Sorry sports fans, the only ones that care about rivalries are the fans. Those in power couldn't give a toss. Learned that awhile ago when realignment ended century old rivalries. On a side note, Cincy always plays Miami their cross-the-street rival.

Up to 34 PAGES on the Crap Pen

We don't need to mix with their delusional assholes, and anyone that thinks different needs to spend some time on their forum....all the myopia but none of the smell of failure they exude when encountering them in person.

UCONN didn't work as a rival because they sucked ass in football and they were trying to ride our conference championship coattails for their benefit. Houston is a completely different program. The potential is there for a rivalry.
