He said that criticisms of his handling of the Coronavirus were a democratic hoax. Not the existence of the virus. At one of his unmasked rallies where he was stirring up his base to hate democrats.
Only some of that is true. You're stating it how you wish it is.

This is false. The US military itself uses commercial flights, has since Vietnam. There is a huge difference between Vietnam and Afghanistan, and that's why even the US Media is hitting Biden ... hard. You refuse to see it.

Certainly the posters here I argued with back in 2020 felt that way. So do we slowly begin removing our military equipment, American civilians, and Afghan allies over the course of the next year or two? NO.
Instead we ANNOUNCE to the whole frickin' WORLD that we've negotiated with the Taliban (weird, I could have sworn we don't negotiate with terrorists) to withdraw our troops from the country in May. Hell, Candidate Trump said in one of his 2016 campaign rallies that only an idiot announces to the enemy in advance what he plans to do -- yet in 2020, that's EXACTLY what Trump did -- and Biden continued supporting it when he got in office. The only thing Joe did differently was announce (again, WHY?) an extension of our withdrawal time.
Even without predicting that the American-trained and equipped Afghan army would fold like a cheap suit, this approach was destined to fail from the get-go.
This is the kind of crap you get (from a politician of either party) when you mix wartime field tactics with back home politics.

Heeeeelllooooooo. Trump was the one who announced last year that the U.S. would be leaving Afghanistan once and for all (um, during the campaign season) in May, 2021, because he.... cue trumpet fanfare.... negotiated a deal with the Taliban.
Could Biden have changed course once he got into office? YES. Is the evacuation on the Biden Administration? YES. Has the evacuation been a clusterf*k? YES. But for our Usual Suspects to suddenly come down with amnesia about how the hell we got here is the height of hypocrisy.

I do agree with Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse (for a change) when he says we should stay in Afghanistan past our self-imposed deadline for as long as it takes to remove all remaining Americans and Afghans who fought along beside us.
When he went off script and took open questions it really gave us an insight to his emotional and mental state. He's broken. He doesn't want to do this anymore. His sadness really came through.

I can show you where I argued keeping a force in Afghanistan when Trump was negotiating with the f*king Taliban, but you people have come down with a bad case of amnesia prior to January 20th. This whole Afghanistan thing has been a fiasco from the get-go, but by all means, revel in our country's clusterf*k ending to this saga.
The people who are still in Afghanistan for the most part weren’t just “late leaving”, but planned to stay in country after the military withdrawal. So a better analogy would have been you sold the restaurant, some of the previous employees stuck around and the new boss set the building on fire.
So we agree then, he didn’t call the virus a hoax. And he was right at the beginning, and really throughout, that the admin did better than most of the comparable countries in the world. Fauci was the idiot and still is with his inability to message. You’ve bought firmly into political lies. I really don’t think an approval rating in the 20s is possible anymore.
There are far too many people for whom politics is their team sport. They’re ride or die with the R or the D, and will approve of anything the side they like does.
