I dont think this is true for the most part. What sense does it make to still support the guy who was president for 4 years, had the senate all 4 years and the house 2 of the 4 years?
I never said it made sense. Some people just wanted to

Obviously he didnt fix their problems and he was in a position where he had power to make significant differences in some of these regards.

I mean everything that happened for the first year of covid, happened under Trump's watch, so if they are pissed at that stuff, why support the guy whose administration it happened under?
Oh, now that's easier to explain.
Most of the bios I read had businesses in Blue states, like California, and they feared it would become worse under a Biden administration.
Have you watched some of the videos of 'enforcement' in California? Even the police don't like it, and let people 'rant,' much to the 'enforcer's dismay,' after they call over the police.
I still love the business owner who pointed out the Hollywood film team utterly bypassing COVID protocols, while he was shutdown. The Hollywood film team had even asked early why he wasn't open.
Pretty much special interest in a nutshell. Just like Hollywood didn't have to conform to the healthcare mandate that all other businesses and industries did ... other than union controlled businesses too.
There is something deeper within the more hardcore Trumper's, that has nothing to do with policies.
No, it's pretty common to people who have had their entire livelihoods destroyed, and fear it getting worse. Progressives did the same with countless state and local governments, even private businesses.
People who have had their livelihoods destroyed tend to be pissed off.
