Big 12 Championship Game Question

First, it's a joke. Everyone already plays each other. They started a Championship game so that the committee would have a 13th data point and they wouldn't get left out again like Baylor and Oklahoma did the first year. Oklahoma and WV play each other at the end of the year. If Texas drops another one (and I think they will), and WV and OK win out until they face off , they will literally have to play each other in the championship game a week later. If the Championship game has a different result than the first game, the Big 12 will have a 2 loss Champion and a 2 loss runner up and will be left out because they cannibalized themselves. If that happens, does anyone think expansion will heat up again so that the Big 12 can split into divisions and switch to 8 conference games? Because right now they have a much larger chance of knocking themselves out of the CFP than any other conference (9 Conf. Games and a guaranteed rematch in the Big 12 Championship). One of the reasons they were exploring expansion the first time around was because at the time, you needed 12 teams to have a championship game. They petitioned the NCAA to change that rule and when they did, expansion went away. Is this a possible BIG 12 expansion scenario?
