While so many, many examples speak to his true character, the one unforgivable example I recall occurred in 2015. In speaking to the Family Leadership Summit, he said of John McCain, " he was a war hero because he was captured - I like people who weren't captured!" As a veteran, this was a slap in the face to anyone who ever took the oath to protect this country! John McCain's A-4 Skyhawk was blown out of the sky over Hanoi in 1967, and what he endured over the next 5 + years is harrowing...starvation rations, iron manacles , solitary confinement and regular beatings...only to be discounted by this sniveling coward who never served the military a day in his life! Bone spurs in his feet saved his ass from the rigors of Basic Training, but never interfered with his golf and tennis games!
