Brent Key is on pace to become the worst oc in cfb history.

when he was the OC of the bowl game I had a feeling this would happen. He sucks

This also should make fans realize how talented Holman is to put up the numbers with atrocious playcalling and bad oline play

His 35 total points through 3 games rank him 5th worst in cfb history. His total yards through 3 games rank him 6 worst. His 12 ppg rank him 3rd worst through 3 games. If he's not fired on Monday and continues at this pace an argument can be made that he is the worst oc in cfb history.

Why are you being so negative? He has all year to turn things around. You never know he could end up being the best OC by the end of the year. So much negativity on this board.

The offense is pathetic. We can't seem to get the ball into a playmakers hands other than the first half against FIU to Akins -- who is now apparently severely injured.

The thread starts with some good statistics ... making a good case.
But then it turns into "Kiddle Board" non-sense ... sigh.

I agree. It was all good till you showed up.
My apologies for not joining the circle jerk you'all decided to start.

Seriously ... I wanted to come in and actually take an interest. It started very factual, real things that are real cases against Brent Key. And then ... it quickly goes back to being the Kiddie Board, worse with each post. You guys would find even more support, plausibly unanimous support among all fans, if you'd just stop stooping what you guys do that makes some of us cringe.

The statistics alone are fine. Let's focus on those. Let's build the case around those, plus other details. Attack the results, not the person.

Were you not watching any of the games? Helen Keller could tell without statistics how inept he is.

The support for me is fine thank you very much.

Hahahaha!! You want playmakers???
They are all on NFL rosters now or recently cut. The future playmakers are just too young right now and we're burning all of their redshirts.

I think I should be the OC for UCF! Give me a shot we will win games!

Former players know Key is A JOKE

[roll][roll][roll]
Actually, the few former players I've talked to say that Key is the best coach they've ever had. This is over the span of the last year. Last one was Willie Gaetjens at the SC game. He said he doesn't understand what's going on because Key is, and I quote, "an awesome coach" and "the best coach I ever had".

Makes no sense to me.

Maybe GOL is putting a lock on Key's vision when it comes to calling plays. Maybe Key is a polarizing figure just like his mentor GOL is. Whatever the problem is the only solution imo is to fire them both. If Key is that great of a guy, let the new coach decide if he's worth keeping on staff.

It's possible that his ceiling is as a Position Coach where he could be great again in that role.

It's a big jump to Coordinator or Head Coach

A coordinator needs to be able to make playcalling adjustments between snaps. That's a different talent than a position coach that needs to be a good teacher and mentor. Perhaps Key would be a great head coach (which again , but given how he's done at OC and how coaching progression seems to work

Jags are going through this now. Every player loves Gus and he was a really good coordinator for Seattle. Head coach? Well their record speaks for itself...

I think they have done a great job making half time adjustments. we are dominating the third quarter.:sunglasses:

We are in the same sentence as two schools that began playing at the FBS level 2 years ago.
Along with Fresno State. They've fallen pretty hard since 2012 and 2013, along with some great years in the '00s, as well.

But now that Bianchi is calling for GoL to go ... I have a feeling we're going to see Hitt or O'Leary himself make a move before the season's end.
