This is how I'm feeling on this Sunday morning after yesterday's disastrous performance and after finally believing in Gus after stating in his first season how seeing him in a UCF visor MADE ME CRINGE!

Scott Frost was the perfect fit for this University and took our school to the promised land! Now we're letting a high school coach, whom Frost DEFEATED, knock down everything that GOL and Frost built that elevated us to unseen heights.

I hope yesterday was the start of Gus's end at UCF. I said it on '21 and I'll say it again, HE'S NOT THE RIGHT FIT FOR UCF!!! All he does is talk, lose, then repeat the same things. I didn't even care for his dumb ass BOOM after we beat TCU. Please get him the f**k out of here.

GOL put up an Ofer in the MAC He had success but there is no doubt his shelf life stalled out. Frost left us regrets he n his wife still agonize over Good thing this is a destination job not transition job now We need Gus’ recruiting ( exception at QB position ) with a good coach to coach them up.

Is recruiting REALLY that big of a deal these days when it comes to a head coach? With the NIL era, isn’t the guy holding the bag with the biggest $ the best recruiter?

Gus may have been the guy to have a glass of sweet tea with mom and son in their living room to give a sales pitch for UCF, but if we aren’t offering the biggest $, does it matter how “good” of a recruiter he is?

You may be right. That’s one of a few reasons why I think the President n AD are doing a good job. They are funding these NILs amongst other things . They are giving an opportunity for success at the football level. It’s all on Gus’s shoulders now.

LOL. I love these threads. They are so great for recruiting.

This isn't the AAC where you play two P5 programs (Maryland and Georgia Tech). Every game in the Big 12 will be a challenge. No weak sisters. uat and thuga win recruiting "national championships" and still find ways to lose. Gus is just starting to build UCF back to where it needs to be. The team with the best players is supposed to win. Colorado had two Heisman Trophy candidates Saturday. It showed. UCF will have better days ahead.

Gus built UCF's defense to stop downhill power rushing teams, like Kansas and Kansas State--not what UCF faced yesterday. The Knights got ran out the stadium; it won't happen too many Saturdays. No one picked UCF to go undefeated.

If you think firing Scott 6 LOSING SEASONS Frost will change that ...

Gus is just starting to build UCF back
Build back? Putting aside Heupel's last season where he had one foot out the door, Gus inherited a team that had 3 10-win seasons, 2 NY6 bowl appearances, and a 25 win streak at one point. Don't pretend we were a complete rebuild.

Number of losses each year with Gus as HC:
2021 - 4
2022 - 5
2023 - 7

The trend is clearly down and if it continues UCF will not be in a bowl this year.

Listen you lil aggravating, piss ant. I've been a UCF fan since I was 14 years old and I'm 42 now. Please, stfu and go worry about Auburn or Miami you hybrid troll.

Can't compare his tenure at Nebraska to his time at UCF nimrod. He was surrounded by players who fit his system in Florida.
I will do the math for you.

Scott Frost won 6, 13, 4, 5, 3, 3, and 1 games. I don't GAS that he won 13 games one time in his career. H*LL a broken clock is right twice a day. The man can't coach. He is not even employed in college football.

People forget just how historically bad Nebraska was under Scott Frost.

"All told, Nebraska was 129th out of 130 Football Bowl Subdivision teams in expected points added on special teams during Frost’s tenure."

Even Nebraska fans forget...

(Posted Sep 28, 2024)

"One Nebraska fan called for Frost, who was practically run out of town, to come back and coach special teams."

Now that's ironic.

Smu is 4-1 in the acc.

Malzahn took over a program that averaged 4 losses a season for the last 20 years or so. He turned it into a program that averaged more than 4 losses a year.

If not Scott Frost, then Hugh Freeze. These are cold and hard facts.

Dude left us, if you didn’t notice. Really liked him for about 95% of the time he was here but at this point F-ck him and the Nebraska colors he wore to our 2017 Conference Championship game. “He bleeds black and gold…my ass.”

Grow up. Rarely has a HC ever bleed black and gold. I can think of 2, which is rare for a non-P5/BCS. Others were here as a stepping stone or as a thank God I got the chance. If you think the current one does, I'm still laughing.

Can't blame the guy for going home man. Especially when his dad was ill. I lost my Dad last year so I can understand. I understood when he left. At least he had the morale to finish what he started before he went home.

You can't take away the fact that his offensive strategy and play calling was innovative! Super fast no huddle and play calling that fit us! Huepel kept Frost's play calling and strategy and was winning until he changed his play calling style.

I'm agreeing with you. I'm more referring to the fact people think he would want to come back here....he doesn't. He will seek out new opportunities elsewhere. I quit growing in about 11th grade.

I think he would be more than interested in coming back if the opportunity presented itself.

Yeah any decent coach can get players if money is rolling in. Not all of them can coach and win 10 games. Gus can not sustain it. May hit a flash in pan QB once every 10 years but 0 in 4 here.

Of course he would. He's currently one of those dime-a-dozen, behind-the-scenes NFL analysts for the Rams. If UCF decided to ignore his coaching history and give him a second-shot, he's snap it up in a heart beat.

Two things can be true at the same time.
Truth 1: The Knights needed to seriously bolster their lines if they expected to compete in the Big XII. Me believes Gus is doing that.
Truth 2: Once upon a time, UCF caught the nation's attention because of it's fast-paced style of play that was fueled by stellar QB play. In today's CFB World, winning bigly is all about your QB.
