Can a white man get a fair trial in America today?

Can somebody explain to me why it's unacceptable for black people to be afraid of a traffic stop, but its not ok for me to be afraid for my white daughters getting caught in the middle of a riot led by black people? One works at a Jimmy Johns that could easily be looted or set on fire by angry black people that want revenge against white people.
Well, I'd argue any daughters in the middle of any riot is an issue.

But if you mean the hypocrisy of the US Media saying a 'riot' is 'peaceful' when people are getting maimed, and private small businesses are getting destroyed (possibly their owners and families seriously harmed, and not just white - Plenty of minorities too), because of political correctness, because of the injustices (not being well represented by the subset who are rioting, who just use it as an excuse), then you have my ear. Remember, a lot of white people partake in the violence and looting too, but cause of the convenience of it being labeled 'peaceful.'

I.e., there are better ways to state such.

I mean, when you even have Antifa protestors who claim self-defense when they shoot someone with a gun during protest, it kinda kills the narrative of the US Media that says right-wingers shouldn't be allowed to carry a gun, as they would never use it in self-defense. I love it even more when Antifa members are convicted felons, and not allowed to own.

Hypocrisy all around.

"If women wouldn't wear skimpy clothes, they wouldn't get raped."
False equivalence and you know it. I cannot emphasize enough I am a fiscal conservative libertarian and I don't trust the officer stopping me . I get it. I have black friends who tell me about their driving while black stories .

I do enjoy the water and I get stopped by LEOs all the time on the water and if you're in a boat they don't need probable cause.

I have a friend who crossed from Bimnini to Miami. They stopped on a weed line to fish for dolphin. In about 15 minutes or so a homeland security helo and 2 go fast HLS boats were on the scene . They boarded his boat and found 2 conch shells they got in the Bahamas. They were detained and taken back to Miami. Their boat was damaged by Homeland security doing thousands in damage . Their buddies had a flight back up north someplace which they missed. They spent 8 to 12 hours in detention in a federal facility . Then the feds brought a Florida fish and game guy in and asked about the stupid conch shells. The feds couldn't charge and neither could the state. They were released . Nobody apologized not did they man up to fix his boat . My friend was told to sit down and shut up when they were headed back to Miami. They were not told where they were being taken or even why . Only in the end did they get the picture it was because of two conch shells.

My daughter in high school was arrested and ticketed. Why ? Because in a routine jackson county license check the local cops searched her friends purse . He friend had weed ,maybe a joint in it. The cop asked whose it was and arrested both of them . My daughter was in my 4 Runner and her stupid ass friend shoved a pipe into the leather seat where there was a small split. Had they decided they could have taken my car apart.

Now I am not naive here to think my kid did sample the weed ,but it was not on her procession . it was her friends and it was my car. I spent $5k on a lawyer to get it thrown out. it was a bogus charge and I wasted my time and money because of an over zealous idiot cop.

So, please stop it with me. I know how the cop game is played. I don't trust them and I am white. Because I don't trust them with my constitutional rights you're damn straight I don't trust them with my life . So, I comply and I will take the fight to court as I have done several times and won. I respect them like I respect a shark on the reef or a rattlesnake along a trail when I am hiking. I do what I have to do make the interaction between me and the leo as low key as possible. now if you guys want to mouth off and run and you get shot well part of that is truly on you.

However, I don't think all cops are bad nor are they all racist. I think most people are not racist .

Please, tell us again that you're a libertarian. Didn't understand the first 300 times.

Guess what as much as it sucks saying this , if you are black or white and you don't do as they ask or command during an arrest then you are asking for trouble. I would dare say if every person shot by a cop just got on the ground , didn't run ,didn't resist arrest, fight back or draw a weapon of any kind , if they just did what the cop was telling them to do ,then they would all be alive today

You go through a lengthy commentary on why you don't trust cops and believe they are often heavy-handed, a-holes YET you opine that minorities who face this same kind of authority you have experienced have to assume the responsibility if they are shot and/or killed during a traffic stop??!?

I won't repeat what I said earlier to you but it's clear you don't understand the power game or the level of danger that's often in play when you are a minority who has been stopped by a white police officer.

Take the kid that was shot and killed in Minnesota the other day. After he was stopped, he was approached by THREE cops for a routine traffic stop for crying out loud. What Black people are complaining about is the automatic ratcheting up of aggression that's at play when they are stopped as opposed to your daughter and her friend.

It is all just in black peoples' heads, right?

"My brother Mark returned his Lexus to the dealer for a different car. He told me, "I keep getting stopped. They don't think this is my car."
You've got to admit, a Black man driving a Lexus is pretty damn suspicious behavior. 🙄

Back in the Oughts, a Black woman employee of mine was driving home around 11:30-ish in the evening and was followed then stopped by the police three blocks from her home.

The cops asked her what she was doing in this neighborhood so late at night.

So. Since I posted this topic, we've had the president, 2 congresswomen, and the mayor of Minneapolis all weigh in publicly that Chauvin is guilty, some going so far as to say people should protest if the verdict doesn't come back in the way that the mob demands. That's a lot of weight on the shoulders of the jury that goes beyond the facts of the case.

People --- you know, folks just like you and me --- are entitled to publicly voice their opinions. I told my wife yesterday that if the trial judge was going to get pissed off that his jury might be influenced by what some politician said outside of his courtroom, he could have had them sequestered from the get-go.

And, as the defense pointed out in the mistrial motion, that information has been pushed to everyone with a cellphone through notifications, pushed in news shows and regular programming break-ins, and woven into the story lines of fictional shows that you wouldn't dream would have information. Apart from cutting off all forms of electronic communication, there's almost no way that the jury is untainted, which means that Chauvin is not getting a fair trial.

Oh baloney.

I know it may be a hard pill for our resident Trumpets to swallow, but it IS possible for human beings to think for themselves.

Well we sure as hell wouldn't know it from analyzing your posting history.
