Our motto should be BEAT USF....

Who cares about ECU, beat USF.

Should our success of be determined by just beating South Florida every season? We can save tons of money by hiring a coach for small six figures to focus on beating the team that shares the I4 corridor with us.

No it's still a lost season and a low point for the Program. USF fans(all 3 of them) meltdown would be fun to watch though.

Win or lose I think we all just want to know who the next Football Coach will be

I think avoiding the 0-fer would be big whether it comes against ECU or USF. I won't even be greedy enough to ask for both. I have disdain for both of those teams and would rejoice in just getting a single win this year. 0-fer is just such a staggering feat, even though many of us remember seeing it before.

The last 2 home games being at night hopefully will fire up the Defense to only be terrible half the time

it would be a bigger deal if they had the AAC East Division on the line or a New Years Day Bowl like Temple or UCF in 2013. Preventing a St. Pete Bowl is not quite the same stakes.

Sometimes you just should not take things so seriously. We have a crappy season. Lighten up and make it about something positive. Whenever it is inevitable that we have no shot at a bowl season (gasp!! that could actually happen again??) then you have to look at making some goal.

And yes, every season that you beat your hated rival is a good season. That is what college football was founded on and what people seem to forget.

You have to admit we would be saving some money if we can hire a coach to win just one game amirite? That would be more money to spend for improvement of our facilities (more drinking designated areas) and to improve the look of our mascot.*

Relax you mean i can't have any fun with the apocalyptic state of affairs you claim our program is in financially?

Whatever floats your boat... I am not the one with the "sky is falling" attitude.

How many times have you said we have no money? All i'm doing is taking your claims and offering suggestions to save money. We can't upgrade the mascot because we have no money. We can't upgrade the facade because we have no money. We can't fire the coach because we have no money. I can imagine you were one of the few that was against the on campus stadium because you dont like banking on uncertainities...and thats a fair statement considering how our program operates.
Whatever i'm glad GOL is gone and have hopes for the future of UCF football. You won't hear me complain about the next coach immediately.

They treat UCF like they are considering going into a warzone[laughing]. I'm starting to think all these incidents are from 1 of the games during the Leavitt years and they just exaggerate & grow by the year. At the 2013 tailgate USF fans were walking around and even tailgating around Memory Mall and I saw no issues other than an occasional drive by verbal heckle.

As usual you are just making stuff up now. Not sure how or why you turned this into a GOL thread but that seems to be your MO. But you keep on saving UCF and the world one idea at a time...

I will say this. When BHNS first opened many of our fans had no idea how to act. I came to the game with some friends who were Texas fans (a nice middle aged couple) and we all traveled from Columbia to go. It was exciting. On the memory mall my friends were accosted and berated by drunk obnoxious UCF fans. Beer was thrown, cussing people in their face. It was embarrassing and somewhat frightening. I had to apologize time and again. It is one thing to be spirited and have good natured fun at the other fans' expense, it is another to be abusive and obnoxious. I can relate to some of these stories.

I also went to the Buffalo game where my father was part of the University of Buffalo team that had given up a bowl game because they could not bring their black players. At this game the UCF experience could not have been better. Fans were gracious and friendly and wanted to know a lot of things. The difference may be the fact that by then we had learned to avoid the memory mall.

I can only hope that experience has smoothed the edges off of some of the fans and that they can learn to have fun but to be gracious hosts, even to USF.

You just mentioned our budget in another thread about medieval themes. I didnt bring up GOL to change the subject, i brought him up to prove to you my only beef with the program and its been resolved.

You stated a lot of things in your post that are complete BS and you know it. I mentioned the budget when people were thinking we needed a brick façade and change in the fence and other high dollar items. It was a response to those issues.

I think it has but there are also USF fans that don't get College Football. They are expecting a neutral pre season NFL game type environment for their only Natural Rivalry.

I wish technology was better back then, so i can actually see the proof (youtube) of how bad Memory Mall was instead of taking someone's word for it. Just by that description alone South Beach at night doesn't compare.*
I'm assuming its gotten better since.

I have never been to a game at USF so I can't say. If is anything like tailgating at the Citrus Bowl used to be I would venture to say you are right. Being on campus des change the entire feel of the gameday experience. It also allows for a large number of drunk students to attend the pre-game festivities that you would never see at an off campus location.

I guarantee there is a lot of overstatement and generalization from USF fans who are completely blinded by hate for UCF. They were also insufferable in their smugness at that time so I get hating on them. But in-between the exaggerations there are some kernels of truth. I think UCF having some very successful seasons as well as 8 years at BHNS has allowed some measure of mellowing. Eating some humble pie this year should also help.

There are maybe about 12 USF fans with blind hate towards UCF. The rest are taking classes...at UCF as transient students.

GOL and coach Key, you have failed our city!
Sorry, too much "Arrow" lately which is what you watch when you have no good football (or season highlights) to watch.

Pretty pathetic its down to one victory...

First things first, I can honestly see UCF getting the W against us. Seriously. Strange things happen during a rivalry game and it being the last game of the season doesn't help much, either. If we need that game to make 6 wins I don't think we pull it out.

Second, I attended the '06 Citrus Bowl and '08 campus games. It would be hard for me to return after those experiences but I also realize it may have been a fluke.

Not gonna lie, I am seriously considering attending the game this year. There are quite a few posters on this board (mainly WC peeps) that I would really want to meet. Plus it gives me a reason to leave turkey day early at my mom's house.

It wasn't a fluke, it was a big rivalry game. UCF fans face the same crap when they visit Tampa, that's the way it goes. Go to UF-FSU, Bama-Auburn, it's all the same. If you go to a rivalry game you need to expect it and especially so if you're an away fan.

yeah that's what I meant about some USF fans 'not getting college football'

They'll say that FSU fans treated them like kings, well that's bc they don't give a crap about USF and don't feel any sort of rivalry towards them. Meanwhile show up to an FSU-Miami night game and you're guaranteed to see a couple drunk meatheads getting into a fight.

2013 was simmered down and so will this game bc of how bad UCF is & the low Turkey Day crowd, the rivalry will pick up if both teams are ever good the same season

Agree 1000%. GOL and Key have left this program in shambles! We are paying the price!

I have watched many UCF games this year, and you guys are so bad that it will take an act of god for UCF to win that game. Your offense can't score and your defense can't stop anybody.

You are overestimating our abilities....

It would take at least a +5 turnover ratio for Thanksgiving to be a good game. Avoid the shutout and avoid 64-12 and I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I just don't see anything from this team that shows me that it won't be at least a 14 point USF victory. Unfortunately, this team hasn't shown the heart that it takes to even show up for a rivalry game. Many of the current players haven't experienced playing or have even seen any of the past games years ago.

I'm sure anything can happen, but there needs to be some major improvements on both sides of the ball and it needs to happen quickly. Maybe the bye week will help. The ECU game may be an indicator of what kind of team will show up on Thanksgiving.

Mack is going to run for 350 on the UCF Defense.

Willie will run up the score after the shutout last season & the billboard arrogance

He ran for like 30 yards last year. What a difference. Why can't we get recruits like Mack and Flowers? In college football, it helps to be a dual threat these days. None of our QBs are. Even Holman
