Coach Abe Is A Gator Slayer

yeah she's gone. but we're still in a good place. there won't be a shortage of candidates that want to coach a future big 12 member that already has a solid foundation to build on.

Georgia has a lot of money. Their mens bball program is atrocious. They paid big for UF's men's bball coach. No doubt they will pay to upgrade the women's team as well.

He said we're looking for someone 100% comitted to the program and a lot of people took it to mean he didn't think Abe was committed. He replied to one person clearing it up.

Possibly could be a reason not to hire Sales which a lot of people want. She may have said she’d leave for UCONN if Geno leaves. He doesn’t want to have to hire again in 2 years to replace the next coach.

i hope he doesn't think like that. it's a surefire way to have mediocrity. like scott frost before her, coach abe leaves this program in a much better position than she found it and there will be no shortage of top candidates who want in. if sales is so successful with us in 2 years that Uconn hires her, we'll be sitting pretty.

UCF is that spring break fling …it gets old after a while . everyone is naive if they don’t think even Gus would ditch us to go back to the SEC
I seriously doubt Gus would have an interest in coaching in the SEC at his age. He's well respected, has a great gig... lives in Winter Park...and calls his own shots.

How have we done since he and his recruits left? Good until Milton got hurt. Terrible since. That’s not what I want. Tennessee took Heupel. He didn’t win NY6 bowls. It’s taken at least 4 years and jury is still out on Gus.

Money and being part of the SEC still holds a lot of weight. Many will point to GOL staying, but there is a few key differences. GOL had a tarnished reputation following ND, never had consistent success, and most importantly did not have a personality nor type of football style that would attract major programs/boosters.

Just reminds me of hearing Frost will never live. Heupel saw how Frost move is a disaster he would never want to leave (even if people wanted him to leave at the end). Danny White would never want to leave, he's getting P5 money, believes UCF is better than everyone else. Now we just saw Abrahamson leave despite being offered top 15 money.

we still had enough of a glow to be attractive to the big 12.

anyway, i'm not against coaches who want to move up. we're not the top destination, so I want coaches who will be successful enough at UCF to get the attention of the big boys whether it's in college or the pros.

Does she though? She’s taking her staff with her and a few of our players are transferring. How much of what she did is actually going to endure her departure?
