Jamey Chadwell to UNC
Mack Brown UNC retired
Ryan Silverfield Memphis - UCF Candidate
Barry Odom UNLV -UCF Candidate
Will Stein- Oregon -UCF Candidate
Scott Frost Nebraska and UCF - UCF Candidate
Ed Orgeron LSU -UCF Candidate
Out of this group, Barry Odom and Scott Frost may be the best fit for UCF. Ed Orgeron could be the mystery hire we have forgotten about.

Seen some articles saying UCF is a better fit for Riley than his current. Come back to the Big XII where he had 4 championships in 5 years. Why leave?

Been some buz about Lincoln Riley, that would be a kick in the pants.
Lol. Stop it. That is a nothing burger. Mohajir called USC and then leaked to the Atlantic that he had called USC. Zero chance.

Halzle remains the most viable option. UCF could hire Halzlw for $4.5M a year.

I'm curious. Why did so many coaches turn this career opportunity down? I guess I didn't realize how much Gus Malzahn ruined our football program. Jamey Chadwell and Jon Sumrall told TM and UCF to get lost. I'm embarrassed for my university. UCF'92

This wasn’t a great coaching market. The “greats” like Saban and the not so greats “Gus” and company are leaving the game because of portal/NIL. The biggest name out there in Sumrall told UNC they better pony up as their first offer wasn’t enough. He’s probably waiting for an SEC shot which he could get next year.

Chadwell’s shine has faded and he’s already making $4 mil a year at Liberty. After that there isn’t much out there. Barry Odom…no thanks. Silverfeld…meh. Or we could have gone the high risk coordinator path like Kotelnicki, Stein, Haelze. But you don’t know if they can run a whole program.

I do think Odom was given a trial run last night but failed when they only put up 7 points.

When you take all this into account, understand that Frost has head coaching experience, knows and understands what this university is and loves it, has been humbled but wanted back, how do you turn him down? It’s low risk, high reward because he gets the boosters excited and could get the $$ flowing.

Couldn’t have said it better, brother.

I think it was more about timing for us. We will have more money next time around to hire some of these hard to get HCs.
That’s the thing. Most wanted Frost back, and that gets people excited. The boosters are happy, the average Joe is happy and that keeps money coming in. We hire a guy like Odom and attendance tanks, nobody contributes, and we’re dead. In the future we will have more $
