Cool gesture by DG

I never joined in on the hate, I don't love him, I don't know how you could, but come on, in retrospect him deciding to stay and play under Gus Malzahn would've been a disastrous move for his career. He did what was best for him and in this NIL era that's more his right an ever.

I’m overall neutral on him. Loved what he did here as a freshman essentially saving us from the Wimbush disaster. Understandable in hindsight why he left here, especially with how much success he’s had at bigger programs. But I feel all of that has gotten to his head to make him just a smug personality. Kind of the opposite of MM. But hope the Dolphins draft him in the middle rounds as he’d be a good fit as a backup behind Tua

I'll take bets that he doesn't last a year in the NFL. Frankly I'd be surprised if he got drafted but we've got idiot owners like JJ or Ryan Poles who would prolly pull the trigger.

He would’ve stayed at Ucf for at least one more year had Gus, not exposed him to that horrible offense n the protection that it provided for him. He may have left after a year with the NIL, but he was a great quarterback. he definitely would’ve been a big asset for our program if he continued on.

Agree 100%. Thera are no guarantees in life; take the money now!
Yeah I dunno. I think that's why this world is heading in the direction it's heading.

Money is not everything.

Where has the society that I knew gone when honor, integrity, honesty meant something? I'm not saying DG doesn't have these traits, but by god, I'm frankly tired of hearing about "how it's a business" and "you should chase the money."

We can always look up to your master, Elon Musk, freely demonstrating his love for antisemitism....clearly an entrepreneurial role modal.

People loved Colton Boomer and soon as things went south fans wanted him gone from the program. No one actually cares for the players unless they are bringing in wins, same with the coaches. There is no such thing as loyalty, honor, or integrity in sports that make a profit. None.

Money isn't everything is a silly statement and everyone that attends college either uses it to make more money or piles up a mountain of debt.

There is a grey area here. I understand fan frustration about the lack of continuity of players for the Program they root for. The NFL (and other pro sports) now has more stability with players on the team than college football.

One thing for sure we haven't been able to find someone better to replace him since he left. It was a massive loss for the program.
He liked being at UCF too. Remember, he got injured at the beginning of his junior season. Would've probably graduated a Knight if not for Gus Malzahn. He really set our program back.

I have doubts about his NFL prospects bc you figure he would have declared a year ago w how long he has been in college and the rumor was he got a bad draft grade.

This QB class is weak so we’ll see. Cam Ward is the only one I see potentially being a long term starter. Think Sanders is going to be a bust. Dolphins taking a chance on him late rounds might make sense w Tua always on the verge of his career ending.

Money isn't everything. However, and I'm sorry, but you mean to tell me if a company comes around and offers to double your salary if you go work for them, you wouldn't take the shot? It may seem shortsighted but tomorrow, as I alluded in my initial post, is not promised to anyone, so you might as well go for it when you can.

Also, loyalty goes both ways. So, if a player is not performing a team should just keep the player forever?

I see DG as a P Squad guy. Too short and not fast. Good deep ball but when that’s all you’re good at, NFL defenses won’t give up the big play. On a side note, RJ Harvey officially measured at 5’7.” Didn’t know he was that short. He has to run 4.3 if he wants to get drafted in 1-4. 4.4 to get drafted at all.

Harvey will be a 4.5-4.6 guy I think. We saw that he doesn’t quite have the top end speed (got caught from behind on breakaway runs). That’ll probably ding him a bit but hopefully teams watch the tape to see he’s elite at everything else in terms of running the ball.

Everything is trending for him to be a 3rd down back. Not big, can catch and us a decent blocker in pass pro.

I never understood the hate. Player's need to do what is best for them, Once NIL came into play he would have been stupid to stay. Make as much money as you can, while you can. No college player is guaranteed to to play in NFL
Many players know they will play in the NFL, it's a minortiy, but many know they will play - even injury won't prevent it. I promise you Travis Hunter will play in the NFL - and I could list 100 more than will play, guaranteed.
