Could UCF be out-recruited by South Florida?

I think we probably would have won against Penn State if Holman had started that game, or at least took over to start the 2nd quarter. Given how bad the situation at O-line was, it was difficult for us to beat decent G5 teams. I think the experience the young guys on the O-line got this year and this coming season will pay huge dividends down the road.

Compare Holman's first year to Bortles first 12 games starting. There really isn't a difference and Bortles had a better Oline and running game to help.

Part of the running game is having to respect the pass...14 Int's shows you most teams could put 8 in box and single cover with safety over top...Stanback was night and day with Bortles back there.

All this expert analysis without many doubting their expert opinions, I didn't know there were so many ex-NFL'ers or ex-NFL coaches or scouts or analysts or ex-FBS college players, or coaches or scouts or analysts on this board. By the way, playing NCAA 14 doesn't count.
Yep. Expert right here. Listen.

Pitt, there were times Holman was getting hit on three step drops. Our Oline was really bad at times last years

Most could...but most didn't.

Also, in the 13 games Holman played in, most of his INT's were in a few games (especially in the first half of the season)

2 INT's at Mizzou
2 INT's vs BYU
2 INT's vs Tulane
4 INT's at UCONN
2 INT's vs SMU

In most of Holman's games this year...he had either none or just 1 INT.

Considering the OL Holman had to deal with, especially as a first time starter (basically a first time player...had just a total of 75 yds passing during his freshmen season), he did pretty well.

he was ranked 66th on ESPN based on QBR...not sure how many above him were freshmen or sophs but I bet there are quite a few.

Odds are, there probably were...but considering his OL he had to deal with, Holman did pretty well in his first year starting (and really playing...as he only took a few snaps as a true freshmen).

Are you upset that Holman wasn't the best 1st time starter ever?

If you are within 5 positions of someone in the rankings, there isn't much of a difference. If you filled your needs, great. after that it is a crap shoot.
